I been using the detached joycons, I don't mind just doing motion to throw the hat. The only thing I don't like is aiming as the tank etc.

Been using the joycon grip that came with the switch, as far as i can tell the homing throw is just waggling either way after throwing. Like, Y > waggle and it'll s---t directly to them but its hit or miss for me sometimes

Yo this game is so f---ing good, finally got some solid playing time in today and got to New Donk. I love that there's a linear storyline you have to do in each level to progress, but then they open up as kinda a self-contained open world in and of themselves. Love how many moons there are and how you don't have to choose which mission you're doing, you can just keep going and exploring.

I think this game is better than Zelda honestly, I could see myself replaying this in a few years unlike BOTW which was a great game but most of the fun is from exploring the world for the first time. I think the next Zelda they make is gonna be a true masterpiece if they build upon that foundation. In a similar fashion I'm excited for what doors this opens up for the next Mario game. I wonder what a true open world mario would be like.

I started by using my joycons detached and I love it so far. Tried it on handheld once for like an hour and I also didn’t care for motion controls on there, but I love it while playing on my big screen (44” lol) TV. Still at the Sand kingdom but after beating one of the bosses I went back to Cap to get all the moons and coins that weren’t there before.

Now I’m walking around in my black top hat and suit like a p---- trying to 100% cap kingdom. I think I’m only at ~45 power moons so far

I finally figured out how to do this today, accidentally did a backflip/hat throw/dive/jump off hat and got a higher up fat stack of coins. Now I can do it semi-consistently, love it

(But I didn’t get that moon in the fog, d--- I would’ve never found that. I guess that’s where the amiibo hints would help)

I think I’m gonna get a few indy games to play on handheld since I’d rather play SMO docked. Lots of good recommendations on the Switch reddit, do you guys own any? I was thinking Golf Story or Steamworld Dig 2... I have a list with a couple others too

Serious question here. Do you guys enjoy playing with the joycons attached, in handheld mode? I find it way more difficult to do Cappy’s stuff than with the pro controller.

Game is absolutely incredible. I copped it on the eshop at so i could play it at midnight on launch day.
It's everything I ever wanted. I dont know about you, but I also copped the pro controller to play it with, & it's honestly the best controller I've ever used tbh ($75 tho). I have like 180 moons.
I'm going through the game "slowly" because I don't want to beat the story too quick lol

    https://www.engadget.com/2017/10/31/super-mario-odyssey-is-selling-even-faster-than-zelda/

The Nintendo Switch has been a massive hit since its launch in March, selling more than seven million units worldwide so far, putting it on track to beat Wii U lifetime sales in just a year. But these aren't the only numbers Nintendo gets to flaunt. According to its financial briefing released today, the company estimates sales of Super Mario Odyssey have exceeded two million units in just three days. In other words, since it hit the shelves, the game has sold at a rate of 463 copies a minute (or eight per second).

This is impressive (Zelda: Breath of the Wild took around a month to shift 2.7m units) and marks Nintendo's biggest launch ever for a Switch title, beating all Wii U game launches. According to UK-based Chart-Track, the game's release has also inspired a 64 percent increase in Switch console sales.

In its briefing, the company said it plans to make more Switch systems available, and would like to see Super Mario Odyssey become "an evergreen title" beyond the initial launch excitement. With the holidays fast approaching, Nintendo will no doubt be leveling up on the back of this one for some time to come.

Update: Nintendo also mentioned SNES Classic figures. Since the mini console shipped a month ago (September 29th), the company says it sold 2 million units. Of course, a number of retailers did pre-orders before that date and small restocks have hit shelves in the time since.

    463 COPIES PER MINUTE.

Just beat the final area. Not to spoil for anyone so I'll keep it vague, but s--- was the perfect amount of difficulty. Took me a few hours of trying to beat, but in a way that felt rewarding cuz I made more progress every time rather than it just being tedious and annoyingly hard. I dunno if I'm gonna continue picking up the rest of the power moons at this point, but I'll probably go back to it sometime when I'm bored to try to 100% it.

This and Zelda are f---ing amazing !

But as great as this console is Nintendo failed by not making it backwards compatible with Wii U and 3Ds.

I realize the 3ds has two screens. But I’m sure they could of figured something out.
