    rumored to be more powerful than steam deck and also that ffVII remake + rebirth are coming to switch 2 which if true means it's capable of running at least some ps5 games

    Yeah I'd guess May or June. OG Switch was revealed in October and dropped in march, so 4-6 months after reveal seems likely.

    Bigger screen and some extra buttons from what I've seen. Need to see how them games really look cause it's 2025, no excuse for bad graphics.

    I think people are over looking what it looks like. All future handhelds are semi similar in looks. The power of it is what matters and what games it’ll run. If it doesn’t run the resident evil 4 remake or even the first ff7 remake, i definitely won’t get it right away. As long as the games are backwards compatible and use the oled for a while.
    I do still use the switch more than the newer Xbox,

    Those are remakes for PS4/5; I would start with remasters of old games, that's easier

    no surprise that marsh has the same outlook on video games as a gamefaqs poster from 2006 lol. the graphics arms race has had diminishing returns for over a decade now, like think about the graphical jump from ps1 to ps2 vs ps4 to ps5. that era was the last time the graphical jump from one generation to the next felt like a huge leap forward to me. I've def seen some ps5 games that look really good like A Plague Tale 2 but that's not a system seller to me. at this point idc as long as the games are fun and run smoothly.

    Nintendo is really stupid about a lot of things like the way the handle retro game preservation and online functionality but one thing i'll always give them credit for is realizing how futile the graphics arms race was early on and just focusing on making good games and affordable consoles...tho I do worry a little about how much switch 2 is gonna cost, hoping they can keep it at $399 or lower. they're kinda overdue for one of their classic Nintendo Bungles™, it's been over 12 years since the Wii U now

    Ninendo makes consoles for kids, but try a bit at least with the graphics. Vita was way more powerful.

    I’ve seen analysts say that $400 is the sweet spot for Nintendo, but that they could drive it up to $500 because they know people will still buy it. I don’t know though, that $100 difference could be what makes someone choose a Nintendo Switch 2 over a PlayStation 5.

    Nobody buys Nintedo for graphics. Who gives a s--- about 3rd party games.

    It's the first party games that Nintendo demolishes the competition and why people will buy it.

    Thier games are fun. And that’s why they always remain in the big 3. Thier consoles have been pretty meh since the Wii in my opinion.

    Someone should update this thread with the official information now.

    Anyway, the "reveal" didn't do much for me. But I'm very interested to learn more detail and official news on specs and stuff in April.

    I'll probably end up buying this if it's really as capable as PS4 Pro just to play on the go. Unless Playstation finally announce a successor to the Vita.

    I’m going to take on Soto at a bar in NY for not properly checking in with me and my goons.

    And I use the switch more the older I get for simple games like Mario that’s still fun to me and play late at night or on the go. Tears of the kingdom has been great! Been seeing what I can try and build in that game. Real fun just to explore.

    f---ing finally. I own a ps5 5 and it's a paper weight. Nintendo truly focuses on games for their platform and they're the only system that does. The switch has more debut games than the last two PlayStation and Xbox consoles combined. I couldn't care less about how much power it has. Give us content and a new Mario kart game. Switch was the only Nintendo console to not have its own Mario kart. I think number 8 came out on the wii u in 2014 or 15 then was remastered for the switch
