I don't know why you can't see he doesn't sound like a sc artist when he quite obviously does, its probably because a lot of sc rappers are influenced by him but g.d. calm down im not saying he's garbage or nothing

I don't really see how he sounds like a sc artist tbh

aesop is not 'spiritual lyrical' like the kind of rappers you're describing

he's almost the opposite..He doesn't say nonsense for rhymes or to sound cool like these amateurs, he's just insanely wordy sometimes to his detriment

    Aesop on his lyrics:

It’s probably because it’s not the most accessible music in the world. It may pose a slight challenge to the listener beyond your average pop song. I'm no genius by a long shot, but these songs are not nonsensical, that's pretty preposterous. I'd have to be a genius to pull this many nonsensical records over people's eyes. It's not exactly fast food but when people pretend I'm just spewing non-sequiturs and gibberish I can’t help but think they simply haven’t listened and are regurgitating some rumor they’ve heard about me. Even if it's not laid out in perfect sentences—is any rap?—you’d have to be an idiot to not at least grasp a few things from these songs. Or have had no interest in pulling anything from them in the first place.

hey man I really don't know why Ben didn't just send you the defacto "songs to introduce people to Aesop"

if you're still interested listen to Daylight, None Shall Pass, and Zero Dark Thirty. If you don't like those you will know you won't like Aesop

alright just listened and he doesn't explain why he gets so complex, unless I missed it

read what I said, I never said he was jesus christ man. When I start a song and he f---ing says
    ''
Put one up for Shackle Me Not, clean logic procreation
I did not invent the wheel, I was the crooked spoke adjacent
While the triple sixers' lassos keep angels roped in the basement
I walk the block with a halo on a stick, poking your patience''

ima need to hop on RG, sounds like some s--- a sc artist would right.

this may sound nerdy because it is but if you listen to an Aesop album while reading along and pausing on Rap Genius its a lot better

    I wish I could explain this better (I can't)
But the pieces won't formulate it to anything even close to cohesive
