Apr 12, 2016 i get what you're saying but, like i said, at this point in his career whenever he's rough around the edges it's more interesting to me. fml is nowhere as clean as real friends or ulb, even if you think it's "carefully phrased." the long intro/1st verse, the 2nd verse detailing his episode in mexico, and the fantastic outro...it's way more intriguing than anything happening on real friends to me. weeknd is definitely the low point of the track but oh well. majority of tracks on tlop arent perfect. they're all basically like haphazard sketches...which makes me wonder if thats why we're rating songs like NPILA or Real Friends as highly as we are. Both are great songs, but nowhere near something like Only One for me. Or even All Day.
Apr 12, 2016 Yeah, 'warm' is the best word to describe it. I probably wouldn't put them that far apart numerically, but I was comparing the versions the other day and I kinda prefer the sparseness of the original. Agreed about that last verse, was disappointed when it wasn't included.

The middle is very messy, but the ending few tracks really bring it back (minus the WOAT verse on wolves).
