I never understand how people can just ask 'Whos the best rapper', because Kanye isn't an amazing rapper but he is arguably one of the greatest hip hop artists of all time. So who in your opinion is the most skilled?

Personally I think its Rakim, Nas and Em.

Because he is the best technical lyricist

Simply is the best at word play, punchlines, multi syllables, metaphors, rhyme schemes, similie's, freestyling and flow

    He is the most complex

Has the most lyrical albums every album he has ever released is straight lyrical even on his worst albums he be spitting if we talking straight bars

Tough question. I'd call Prodigy a great rapper, but he's not the best writer, at least that's where I stand on him currently. So is the question more about technical ability in regards to flows and deliveries? Regardless I'm inclined to lean towards people who are also great writers, and who also make good music, so this question doesn't really differ from "best" to me. Tech N9ne and Eminem can rattle off 50 syllable staccato flows, but they still make absolute garbage these days. I'd feel more comfortable just calling Kanye a great rapper and expand how we define what makes a rapper "good" than to make it some exclusive club for people like Logic who are technically sound but devoid of taste.

Anyway, the answer is always Outkast and Biggie.

So like, who would you be most afraid to feature on your song because he'd outshine the f--- out of you? Black Thought is a good one.

I guess my original post was touching on the fact that outside of features, cyphers, and freestyles "rapping the best" is about a lot more than a hard 16. Just look at Slaughterhouse lol.

Big Pun demanded your attention whether you wanted to or not, such incredible presence.

3Stacks still blows my mind, Andre always expands the perimeters of any song he is on and his flow is so effortless.

Nas whenever he isn't doing mental gymnastics is a blast to listen to; funny when he keeps it simple is when he spits those poetic tapestries.
