    An artists tone of seriousness is based on their personality, not their talent level. Outside of hip hop forums there's almost unilateral agreement that Em's talent can't be denied even if any and everything else subjectively can be. That's why most criticisms of Eminem are due to his lack of maturity or lack of "class" and "decorum". No doubt he'd do much better critically if he were more serious, but it's not in his personality.

    In my opinion Em is at his best when he speaks the truth tongue in cheek. The way he would bastardize serious topics in TES and even in some cases Encore and turn them into humorous social commentary is what made a resounding mark that still lasts to this day.
