Sep 26, 2017 Kinda hard to top someone as the best rapper of all time when they're the best human of all time so this kinda unfair man
Sep 26, 2017 that is a valid answer since they haven't. kanye absolutely is in the running for being GOAT. you can't lump kendrick/kanye together like that. Kanye changed rap 3 times single handedly and was actually far more helpful in bringing consciousness in hip hop (which i don't personally see as a positive) back into the mainstream than Kendrick by putting guys like lupe, common and talib on his albums the forefront of rap from CD-GD. Kendrick doesn't belong on the same ballot as kanye. People who say Kanye isn't in the conversation for the greatest of all time are the people whose opinions I told you you shouldn't take seriously earlier in the thread (if you actually read my post). because you literally said in the OP that kendrick should be in the talk for being a GOAT, and he shouldn't. If you'd go back and reply to the post I made almost 2 hours ago about defining your metrics then I could help you further. I'll put a tldr here for you here in case you don't feel like reading a lot again: -People who have pac at #1 aren't being "objective". That's why they're unwilling to listen to anything being above him. Their opinions should be disregarded. These are likely the people posting "if pac was still alive lil wayne would work at mcdonalds" comments on youtube. -The people who won't entertain Kanye being the GOAT are in the same boat. They're not being objective. I'm not even a huge fan of MBDTF myself, and I thought TLOP was downright mediocre but I can't deny how much he's accomplished. He's earned the right to be in the discussion of the greatest of all time. I wouldn't argue anyone who wants to say that he is. -The people who won't entertain Kendrick as being the goat won't do so because Kendrick isn't the goat and none of his albums have stood the test of time yet or left a mark on rap in any meaningful way (aside from having the most cringeworthy track i've ever heard on an album with the tupac skit)
Sep 26, 2017 why is there such an obsession with making outlandish statements like "______ is the goat!" in the first place
Sep 26, 2017 Because calling stuff GOAT is dumb as s---. You can't see into the future it's a claim that cannot be made as something better will come in the future.
Sep 26, 2017 he's having calls with Timbaland stepping his production up he has flows punchlines,,, n----- is improving, by 30 he'll be a legend mark my words and smd
Sep 26, 2017 Kendrick isn't done. For all we know he could fall off completely on his next album. Another very important aspect is consistency, which is why Eminem can be shot down in GOAT arguments. If Eminem died after 2003 90% of people would think he's the GOAT, but then he released Encore and Recovery. We have to wait until a few more years until Kendrick can be put into the GOAT argument
