Sep 29, 2017SSLP was a unique album for its time, it had some of Dre's most interesting production and it featured Eminem coming to grips with the animated & outlandish personality he became to be on his next 2 albums.
But I went with X's debut--it practically ended the Shiny Suit Era from 97 and set the tone for NY Rap in its remaining prime for the next few years. It's gripping, it's intense and X already came in sounding like a veteran (which he practically was) on his debut.

I love early Eminem, but duh bruh, DMX had 2 platinum (better) albums in just one year. My favourite crackhead went hard as f--- that year.
I mean... "Get At Me Dog", "Ruff Ryders Anthem", "Stop Being Greedy", "Let Me Fly" or "How It's Going Down" are fucken classics.Ordinary Joel, Sqrt Sqrt, The Gooch and 1 other person like this.Dec 18, 2025(This ad goes away when signing up) -
