Oct 31, 2017 MMLP is one of my top 3 rap albums of all-time. Dre & Mel-Man's production is top notch. Sharpest penmanship of Em's career. Bass Brothers at their best. Xzibit killed his verse. Sticky Fingaz had one of the greatest verses of all-time. Superb storytelling (Stan & Kim). Not a bad hook on the whole disc. This album is perfect.
Oct 31, 2017 MMLP for me. Pure nostalgia in an era where Email could do no wrong. If TES didn't have Say what you Say on it I may reconsider.
Oct 31, 2017 The Eminem Show.. Em needs to look back at this album and notice how he d--- near produced the whole thing and did almost every single hook.. This is when he’s at his best.. Needs to stop puttting these b------s on hooks and gettin these random beats from other producers and trying to fit his rhymes/song to the beat.. He just needs to go back and create everything himself.. s--- wouldn’t sound so forced like some of his new stuff seems to
Oct 31, 2017 Right 2002 was the best year for eminem, and I think the best year for any rap artist. I’d have to do research to be 100% sure, but that year eminem had a number 1, album, movie, and song that was number 1 for 12 weeks straight, and he ended up winning an Oscar as well
Oct 31, 2017 I disagree. I really don't hate Drips as much as other people. But I REALLY can't stand SWYS, it's should've been a track on one of the Invasion mixtapes.
Oct 31, 2017 s--- i cant hate any song on The Eminem Show even Drips and SWYS. MMLP is my favorite because it has everything you want from Em, dark humor, funny background voices, agression, controversion, flows, great delivery, it sounds good, it sounds raw, it sounds like Hip Hop.
Nov 4, 2017 Either way, both tracks are the weakest links of TES. I wish Stimulate was put in place of one of them.
Nov 4, 2017 Yeah, gutted that was cut at the last minute. But at least we got Say Goodbye to Hollywood in replacement of it though. Could've been worse!
Nov 4, 2017 This 100%. Em's ferocity and hunger on MMLP is rarely seen in hip hop. This amount of pure fire on one album is in rare company. There's probably only a few rap albums that contain so many tracks with so many blistering verses. Not to mention the perfect production by Dre and Mel Man and the Bass Brothers. Those beats capture the early 2000s perfectly and mesh nearly impeccably with Em's lyrics and hooks. Plus I love how many of the songs have hooks which are slightly different after each verse and I also love how so many tacks have pre-hooks, and again with some of them being slightly different after each verse. MMLP is not only a nearly perfect work of art, it's a f---ing time capsule. The Eminem Show is also historic, and he sounds more mature and self aware on this album, but I give MMLP the slight edge. I prefer the "unknown, comical, aggressive, outspoken but not-PC, ready to explode at any moment take s--- from no one, unpredictable, borderline psycho who calls out bs and isn't afraid of upsetting anyone" eminem on MMLP instead of the more mature, self aware eminem on TES.
Nov 4, 2017 That whole time span between MMLP through the 3rd Invasion mixtape is a period of hip hop dominance only a few rappers have achieved.
