Nov 15, 2017 He is very aware of what we are all saying. He says that no matter what he does we won’t be satisfied and he made all these excuses about how if it’s not this it’s something else. Here is why he is wrong and is creating all these strawman’s. Marshall has not made any albums in a long time with normal, good flows, with a clear vision, and he is still using pop stars to promote his stuff. And so he’s basically saying that even if he made classic albums that we would still complain. I highly doubt that more people would complain than the amount that are now. He’s using that as an excuse. He says that no matter what he does it’s never enough. But that’s not entirely true. We know he’s capable of more and we know he can and should go in a different direction instead of holding back. So he’s wrong to just assume that we are unhappy because he’s not doing the album a certain way. I challenge Marshall to try to create a normal album with a normal flow, one where he isn’t trying to please pop fans. You know what’s funny with TES? It appealed more to urban kids and the mainstream even more than his stuff does now. By putting Beyoncé on the hook and making WOW, he got the worst of all worlds. The problem is Eminem got civilized and has no balls to do what got him successful in the first place.
Nov 15, 2017 Do you actually think WoW is a pop song? This is the less pop thing I've ever heard. Stan was way poppier than this.
Nov 15, 2017 I’m sure if he would put out songs like he use to now people would get bored with it, say “his humor is growing stale”, “why doesn’t he grow up”,”he is 45 quit acting 28, or a child it’s awkward”, so I’m sure there will be a few fans who will still judge him if he was making songs like his old days.
Nov 15, 2017 There is a difference between having music that doesn't appeal and then having music that is sonically repulsive. Despite few gems, Em's musical output from 2014-17 has been nothing but an embarrassment to his earlier catalogue. Despite the song quality on MMLP2 being higher than Recovery, Eminem could never figure out how to put together that album, s--- sounds all over the place and more of a mixtape. He's clearly working hard on the wordplay/rhyming but does he even listen to the music he makes after he's done? What made him think Right For Me was anything worth putting out? He literally wasted the potential of a good monstrous beat on that one, so yeah he clearly is in denial. But I enjoyed Walk on Water, it hit me right in the feels, and speaking for me, it was sonically good too. It does give me a hope about his musical direction from here.
Nov 15, 2017 What his original group of fans want is not what I'll sell albums. As much as I don't want to hear people like Rhianna or Beyonce on his music you have to admit, it makes business sense. And "Eminem" nowadays is a franchise, not a rapper. The only thing he has the ability to change that will please both camps is the flow. Or more to the point, just not chopping words up and creating the stutter effect. He will never please his old generation of fans and the new ones and we can't expect him to.
Nov 15, 2017 So here is my solution. He should make a double disc album each time. One for the serious fans and one for the casuals.
Nov 15, 2017 Then overall quality of each would suffer and we would be left with 2 5/10 albums. We have to face facts, he will never please everyone. And that's ok.
Nov 15, 2017 I'm not buying that. Don't give in. Em just wants the easy way out. I think he's just gotten lazy and makes excuses now. He's not driven.
