That part about how he approaches albums is what's wrong with how he approaches albums.
(paraphrasing) ''do I have this type of song and this one yet?''... that's so f---ing lame. That's not pure. That's not creating what you want to create then shaping it as a piece of work. He's never going to create another great album or something unique again, because he just intuitively sees albums like products which have certain quotas to fill.
That's how we end up with forced 'b---- tracks' and s--- which he isn't really feeling, he just feels the album 'needs it', and so creates it to serve a purpose, but you can't hide the fact it's contrived. It's obvious in contrast to the s--- which is authentic, and that's how you end up with an uneven, mess of an album.
