I think what Talib always had over Mos was the hunger for it. Mos does whatever he wants, good or bad, but either way it always comes off effortless. Talib tries too hard. Early in his career it worked, later on, not as well. Could be that I'm also thinking of the Black Star chapter in Brian Coleman's Check The Technique Vol 2 book. He seems to imply that Talib took the Black Star album more seriously than Mos.JIGGA MANE, Ordinary Joel, 50CentPeace and 1 other person like this. -

Both are phenomenal MCs and rap artists but people forget Talib has consistently dropped top tier verses and nicely put out albums since his debut whereas (not Mos fault) Mos hasn't put much out in his career.
When comparing the two for me it's about their whole career not their prime. Nobody seems to mention Talib Kwelis consistency when dropping albums. He's one of the rare rappers not to fall off .Ordinary Joel, Groovy Tony, Jakepaulerforlifelogang and 1 other person like this. -

Mos Def is a much more skilled MC and is also more creative, but Talib Kweli has been more consistent. I’ll still take Mos DefOrdinary Joel, SpursandGermany100 and Ricky like this. -

Mos's best moments are better than talib's for me. However, I think they are not as many moments like this as people want you to believe. So with that said, talib is better for me, even though in the 2010-2014 some beat selection was absolute crap. I like him and big boi more over their partnersOrdinary Joel, 50CentPeace and SpursandGermany100 like this. -
