Feb 26, 2018 It's time to revisit these lyrics from In Your Head now that the dust has settled, as this is no reference to the album of the same name: f--- it, I've done enough in this rap s--- Recovery brought me nothin' but back To right where I was and perhaps This coulda been my victory lap, if I wasn't on the verge of relapse At the time of release ,there was some confusion. People thought he may have been referencing the album....but I think it's pretty cut and dry. He is referencing his struggles with addiction. Is Em currently on the verge of relapse?? Or is the song referencing a time when he was close to relapsing, post-Recovery? Is Revival the victory lap, or could he be referring to MMLP2 here? When was Em on the verge of another relapse?
Feb 26, 2018 I've always thought that he wanted to say it just because. He didnt mean it. Just like him dissing random people now-a-days. Just for our entertainment.
Feb 26, 2018 I feel like he was saying he was on a literal verge of another relapse after MMLP2 which is why it took so long to come out with another album
Feb 26, 2018 He's obviously just saying he's on the verge of relapsing (in context to the song) while also referencing his actual album titled relapse It's just word association there's nothing more to it, it's both but there's hardly any deep hard meaning or message in there
Feb 26, 2018 Recovery brought him back and now he's supposed to be in his victory lap, oops he's actually relapsing again after a career rebirth Oh wow he also has an album called relapse too about falling back into dark times and addiction Not that complicated
Feb 26, 2018 They're both mediocre songs that only Emsxn stans would ever think are good tracks Em's album had literally 3 good songs lmaooo
Feb 26, 2018 Framed is just terrible. On paper In Your Head is great and for that I kinda get the praise. But the delivery 2nd verse
Feb 26, 2018 Walk on Water Believe Castle and Arose are good to great songs. Its like he sat down and thought out the intro to the album and the outro to the album conceptually then just said f--- it
Feb 26, 2018 Only the haile eighty part is awkward but the end of the verse gave me goosebumps first listen
Feb 26, 2018 I dunno the whole verse kinda sounds s-----y to me LADIES and GENTLEmen Agree w ur previous posts tho first 2 and last 2 songs are great. I like a few others on it too but thats it
Feb 26, 2018 I wouldn't say it's terrible but it's definitely not good. Just like the majority of relapse. Just generic horrorcore storytelling that is not an indication of writing talent or lyrical prowess whatsoever. No one thinks that's impressive except for actual horrorcore fans of eminems fanbase who have convinced themselves that relapse is some sort of 'cult favorite'. Oh god I had to go back and listen to this the flow is like he's carefully tiptoeing over spikes or something it's so choppy and particular lmaooo soooooo bad AMAZING backtheni PUT ERRTHING intoda Rhyme Whether it was sad mad happy or ANGGREE ididit Did what? HAY LEE BAY BEE ididnt meantomakeu EIGHT TEE percenta! MAYBE Ishoulda! U literally can't convince me anyone can keep up with what he's saying. You can't process his lyrics because of this s-----y flow. U absolutely can't. It strips the song of ANY meaning.
Feb 26, 2018 Yeah I'm sure the verse was very gripping stuff too bad his awkward particular flow strips it of any meaning whatsoever
Feb 26, 2018 If em overdoses again it'll be because he realized how much he s--- on everyone's face after opening his album with Believe
