Don’t get me wrong, I’m a rap nerd so I like a lot of his newer rappity rap stuff, but not all of it (as much as I hate the Baby chorus with a passion, I f---ing love those verses so much). Nowadays every time he rhymes, he’s trying wayyyyy too hard to blow people’s mind with crazy, fast technical rhymes. It’s almost like he’s chasing his No Love or You’re Never Over style verses. This isn’t always true obviously but it seems to happen way too frequently. He’s at his best when he uses emotion and simple to understand words yet creates technical and complicated flows but spits them in such a way that they’re easy to understand, are catchy, have rhythm, and are usually melodic in a way that his voice almost sounds like an instrument. This is partly what made him so likable back in the day. But sadly he doesn’t seem to have this skill any more. Relapse is probably the last time he consistently found this magic. But naturally he turned off a lot of people with the accents and subject matter (side note, obligatory Hello>>). If he can figure out how to bring this back on a more consistent basis, I think his music would have a much better chance at being enjoyable.
He needs to use better beats too. My god is Revival littered with so many s--- beats.themostshady23, NAES, Xerksis and 5 others like this. -

You ain't gon' have no other choice but to rush the stage
and charge the mic, and I hope you got the heart to fight
Cause you gon' have to, cause you ain't got the smarts to write
somethin that good, to try to come back at me with
What you gon' do, try to out-rap me with that happy s---?
I will always maintain this Eminem was the most enjoyable as a fan.Marshall III, KingZ, n9ne and 5 others like this. -

I liked Revival (acknowledging all the flaws it contained)
The thing, it feels he lost the magic, swag, and bold personality.
His body language is so weird especially at concerts, the lumberjack look with the kangol and sweater mostly isnt pleasing, his music isnt smooth. I viewed him for so long as perfect god who couldnt do wrong because he was really that.. he was ultra alpha and now not even beta, he's f---in gama... the Berzerk dance to promote Coachella was corny, his gimmicks are non-funny like acting childish to Paul Rosenberg.. his interviews are all the same, his concerts are all the same, he doesnt have interesting s--- going on. He is not connected to both, the hip hop culture and pop culture, he failed so bad with Revival as whole.
The bold wittiness turned into nerdy puzzle, the shock value turned into meh gimmick, the beefs turned into semi subliminal disses who no one knows about, the funny moves turned into cringy throw offs.
Idk.. im still stan, but Em rn is kinda touchable unlike before, even until Recovery eraNAES, n9ne, Sodium Chloride and 2 others like this. -

He’s been “touchable” for nearly 15 years.
Although he musically won the battle with Benzino, that beef ended up ruining him, his health, and his career.
Edit: to clarify, he obviously was still successful and made some decent to great music post Benzino, but that s--- with Benzino fueled his drug addiction which ultimately negatively impacted his creativity and his music.Last edited: Apr 12, 2018n9ne, HappyTreeFriends and Guma like this.
