Apr 17, 2018 https://noisey.vice.com/en_us/article/kzxk4m/eminem-coachella-2018-review-essay Great read. Its' crazy how we all went from idolizing him to hating him to just plain feeling sorry for him. This sums it up pretty well.
Apr 17, 2018 Did he actually say some of the s--- they quoted in there? Like the 'let's take it back to a time when I was good'
Apr 17, 2018 Nope, I want my 4 years back from waiting for that trash. Thank The Lord that Eminem isn't the only rapper I listen to.
Apr 17, 2018 He has no one to blame but himself. He put out MMLP2, which had a lot of flaws, but was still a good album. Then it's like he looked at all the flaws that the fans complained about and thought: "Huh, well I'mma do the opposite" and amplified all the garbage no one wanted x10 and did the exact opposite of what everyone was hoping for. More Alex Da Kid beats, more poppy features on the hooks with three verses where each verse ends with the first line of the chorus as a transition, more of those horrible Rick Rubin classic rock samples. Quite honestly, Revival ruined some of the Rock/Rap songs from MMLP2 for me. If I was okay with Berzerk and So Far until now, Revival made me really hate those type of songs now. This hate isn't unwarranted. This Revival era has been nothing but horrible, accompanied by an immensely stupid BET Cypher where he basically told his fans he didn't want them to be his fans, if they voted for Donald Trump. I care very little for politics, but that was the most r-----ed thing anyone could do. "Don't be my fan if you don't agree with my political views" The only way of Redemption is if he revamps and reinvents himself. A new formula and a new roll out. I swear it's like he looked at all of his past mistakes and decided to make the shittiest album possible, as a joke.
Apr 17, 2018 I feel bad now that he went on twitter and read those things, I mean yeah he has been just “hearing” about his criticism about his music, but that’s totally different than seeing for yourself & the fact that he actually said that on stage, must’ve been a big heart break. He loves music tho & doesn’t seem to want to quit anytime soon, I know that “getting older and growing” isn’t an excuse but if you have the same passion he did when he started to write & saying “you are still the same you”, you should be putting out the same quality type of music as you have back then (whether you are 26 or 45), so he is doing it all on him. (Pretty much)
Apr 17, 2018 I think taking control of his own socials is a good start to know what people are ACTUALLY saying as opposed to listening to the people that surround him everyday (that likely garner a paycheque from him).
Apr 17, 2018 This is spot on. I basically feel the same way, although I’ve never been a fan of this rock s--- at all. It’s never felt or sounded right to me since the moment he started that s---. Anyways, my main point is, I thought I was the only person who’s been annoyed by this: “with three verses where each verse ends with the first line of the chorus as a transition”. I know this is probably stupid and petty to find this annoying but this is definitely getting old. He’s doing it in d--- near every song it seems.
Apr 18, 2018 Honestly would have never guessed eminem would be in the position hes in right now, 15 years ago. Its really f---ing weird and kinda depressing. Makes me wonder if some time down the line we are gonna look at drake, kendrick or cole like this, but i doubt it. Eminem had the highest peak but imo easily the most awkward/humiliating downfall to watch.
Apr 18, 2018 That's not petty at all it's an annoying cheap decision to do that in every song like he's making music for Disney queers
