May 3, 2018 Completely agree. Taking it out would make it a flawless verse. It’s obviously not a good line but I don’t let it ruin the verse/song for me. But it’s crazy how he has a line like that just before possibly his most poetic writing of all time
May 3, 2018 It's not about lackluster album, it's about watering down pure rap when he has the ability to put it on a platform. Watering it down with cheap, tacky pop-rap beats and lame features made only to fill the pockets of Suits. And Paul. Like they need anymore f---ing padding. It hurts the genre by making some of the bigger s--- - lamer. Not saying it's the lamest s--- or lamer than mumble-rap, but he is.... was... in a position to make PURE or innovative s--- BIG. Not just use cheap formulas for easy hits and put more predictable, mass apeal crap in the genre.
May 3, 2018 His technical writing is probably some of the best its ever been. But isnt subject matter a component in good writing, same for quality hooks which he seems to lack, and the inappropriately placed punchlines.

Em is the perfect artist to speak out against mumble rap and the death of lyricism. His beat selection in the past has no bearing on it.

Also, most rappers aren't farting, burping, talking in weird voices, writing bad lines about hamburger buns....Eminem is in a category of his own when it comes to bad lyrics. He ruins almost every verse with something now. Will be shocked if caterpillar isn't ruined by some Akward pause, metaphor, bad pun, bodily fluid noises. Almost to be expected. "I hear the sounds of toilets flushing, some s--- is going down" thats not necessary to say in a song. Pencils have erasers, or get some whiteout.
