When Nikki left Bobcat for Jay... Jay had a slight drug and alcohol problem... I believe Nikki fed into Jay's fear that it was worse than it really was to cover up her own mental illness and shortcomings.
Jay became weirdly devoted to her and like a super feminist and started portraying himself as a f--- up poor shlub who was only lucky to have this super great gal... when they got married he changed his name to "Mohr-Cox" which I would respect if it was a pun on "more cocks"... but sadly it wasn't... Jay started bashing men who made "wife" jokes... then he started bashing husbands who do not live only for their wives in general... he would make fun of men for having a "mancave" because he thought he was superior because he just adapted to his wife's home decor.
Then Nikki ruined her career as being a sex symbol by transitioning into Steven Tyler with the help of unscrupulous plastic surgeons... Jay started pitching her as a serious writer and just lied and said she wrote all of his jokes... and he even went as far as to say that she was coming up with other comedians stuff even before they did because she was so God d--- funny and smart and talented and she didn't even get plastic surgery... that was just a rumor and everything was great and he couldn't be happier and thank Christ he was sober.
I stopped paying attention when they got a divorce and he was saying that she was drugging his son (which I believe is true).
