Jul 19, 2018this is true, though i wouldnt f*q with your word choice ee.
it's the least encumbered by ems legacy tho, and just way more effortless. less hate, less pop star attacks. just a hungry ~25 y/o guy rapping about cartoonish violence (in a way that mostly works), poverty, etc. relistening to it, you can tell why ppl in 1999 found him so compelling and cool. (a good reminder in 2018 sometimes eeee)
it's like a rap album version of secret life of walter mitty, if people here get that ref

SSLP was fun, creative, light hearted even when it was dark - it's the best Eminem album ever made imo. -

I think sslp aged better than mmlp and especially tessoul intent, Dread or Alive, Soldier and 4 others like this. -
Jul 19, 2018
musically sslp is a great snapshot of that funky, cross genre detroit sound percolating in the 90s. its great!
(mmlp and tes comparatively may sound more dated, but i still - nostalgically -dig tes rock edge.)Alpha, Buddha, Mike Tyson and 3 others like this.Dec 18, 2025(This ad goes away when signing up) -

Think I prefer Em grappling with the newfound fame on MMLP, his writing still had that cartoonish element but more polished. Production wise I probably have to relisten to both (which I don't feel like doing)
Can't be mad at people preferring SSLP, between that and his feats on 2001 are my favorite works from himemanisbetter, Alpha, Buddha and 1 other person like this. -

I do. I like both, but em's clunky production style rly defines tes as a product of 2002. not disavowing it, i like how it's a superstar rap rock album.... but its harder to divorce from its place in timeZeugma, dkdnfbdjdkdddjdjfvcgfl and DKC like this.
