Aug 17, 2018 The end of August is vastly approaching & with it nears probably the most talked about midterm election in recent U.S. History with huge implications on the line. Republicans currently control congress by a total of 26 seats (24 in the House & 2 in the Senate). Current political climate & polling favors Democrats giving them a roughly 3/4 chance of winning back the House. Thus, Republicans a 1/4 chance of maintaining their control of the House. (p.s. for people who don’t understand probability, a 25% chance doesn’t = 0%): Some of the most important races to be watching are these districts: There’s still like 3 months until Election Day so a lot can change between now & then. There’s also outside factors that can make an impact such as voter suppression: And just like in 2016, foreign interference: It’s going to be a h--- of an election cycle. We’re bound to get multiple bomb shell news stories before Election Day so prepare yourselves lol.
Aug 21, 2018 There been some improvements to FiveThirtyEights model that improve Republican’s chances a bit: Rampant gerrymandering makes it a lot more difficult for Dems to take back control of Congress.
Aug 22, 2018 Beto has a shot to finally knock off Ted Cruz. If he pulls this off, he’d be a great VP candidate for 2020. Harris/O’Rourke 2020 Where do I sign up to volunteer? Lol
Aug 22, 2018 I really hope he wins. I normally don’t vote for Democrats but on election day he is getting my vote. I want Ted Cruz gone, he is so full of s---.
Aug 23, 2018 Pretty funny how Cruz accused Beto of going by "Beto" to pretend he is someone he is not... meanwhile "Ted" is actually Rafael... a Hispanic man born in a different country.
Aug 27, 2018 https://www.houstonchronicle.com/op...xas-criminal-justice-reform-jail-13181472.php I’m going to be very disappointed if he doesn’t win.
Aug 28, 2018 Dems winning the house is far from certain. This just goes to show how much of the popular vote Dems need to win in order to win the house. It’s not unlikely for dems to win the popular vote & republicans retain control of the house due to gerrymandering.
Aug 31, 2018 538 published a good piece on your boy. It basically goes into the polling & while he def has a shot, it wouldn’t be a shock if Cruz ends up winning by double digits either.
Aug 31, 2018 Yeah, Cruz winning is still the expected outcome for sure. I think that Beto can win if enough people actually get out and vote.
Aug 31, 2018 That’s usually how it goes. If turnout is high, it’s a dem advantage. If turnout is low, it’s a rep advanrage. Like the article said, we could see a O’Rourke +5 win or a Cruz +11 win. It’s really still up in the air.
Sep 8, 2018 Lmfao I totally forgot about this. Whoever in his campaign that thought this would be a good idea, had to be trolling lol.
Sep 12, 2018 FiveThirtyEight’s senate model came out: Dems have a 1/3 chance of winning back the senate while Republicans have a 2/3 chance of retaining the senate.
