Oct 2, 2018Kanye has done so much absurd and ridiculous s--- in his career that he can legit drop an album full of scoopity woops and people will still praise it as a work of art, with a deeper meaning.
Like that song with Lil Pump. I've seen people saying s--- like:
"y'all dumb af, kanye made this bad track on purpose to show everyone how easy it is to climb the charts, he's a f---ing genius "
Meanwhile Eminem can drop the greatest album of his career and people will still tear that s--- apart. It's literally a trend to hate on Eminem in 2018. It's not even about the quality of Eminem's recent albums.
Eminem was in limbo between 2 generations during MMLP2 and now finally the younger generation has taken over as the majority of the hip hop fan base. Eminem's core fans have moved on to other things, ain't nobody who was a fan of Eminem in 1999 gonna go on the internet and defend the man's music that they might not have even heard recently. People that used to bump Eminem in the early days have families now.
And as cliche as it sounds, the younger generation doesn't care for lyricism. They care about banging beats and catchy hooks. Eminem will never budge to fit in with the current wave.
And even if he does, it'll be unbelievably corny and he'll be laughed at. I wouldn't want to be in his shoes.
This s--- is probably depressing as f--- for him, especially now since he doesn't hide from the internet anymore and actually goes on Social Media.

Option A: Kanye. While his last solo album was underwhelming to say the least, I think most of us can agree that Kanye is still capable of making good music. However, the young level headed producer turned rapper who was a hungry student of the game has basically vanished. Now, we have an older self-absorbed man with irrational tendencies who seems content with being used as a propaganda tool for some real s-----y people.
Option B: Eminem. We all know the story, a scrawny white battle rapper from Detroit who managed to put out three incredible albums with a distinct style. Now, an old recluse who struggles to make listenable music & is lost in a genre that has evolved since earlier in his career.Ordinary Joel, Sav Stanfield and JEB like this.(This ad goes away when signing up)
