Oct 26, 2018 all the best albums have been by non mumble rappers e.g. Daytona, swimming, pieces of a man. Been no truly memorable trap projects except maybe Astroworld. been some other ok ones like god level and the on the rvn but they are far from the best projects of the year if we being real. Need future, thug or uzi to save the year.
Oct 26, 2018 Agree but thats also cuz I'm not interested in full trap projects anymore really. Few songs on an album, great. But 12 trap songs, pass. Also beast mode 2 was pretty solid imo
Oct 26, 2018 A lot of the best albums despite not fitting into the trap genre still take heavy influence from a production and flow perspective, the south florida scene is flavoured heavily with elements from Atlanta trap. Just with more distortion, lo-fi instrumentation and more colourful deliveries. So sure the album of the year may not be in the realm of Trap but if your favourite album is Kamikaze, Taboo or Iridescence then you can't deny that the album would sound vastly different if trap had not came around and saturated the mainstream listeners ears with its stylistic attributes.
Oct 26, 2018 The most trap like song on it (believe) is also one of the few good songs lol. Also @Jew Money thoughts on luca brasi 3 and beast mode 2?
Oct 26, 2018 I liked LB3 but I'm not that motivated to relisten to it a lot. BM2 has like 3 amazing songs but rest is filler. His weakest project since evol imo.
Oct 26, 2018 There have been dope trap projects this year. On The Run by Young Thug was fire. So was Astroworld. City Morgue just put out an amazing trap metal album. Mudboy by Sheck Wes was fire. Die Lit is f---ing incredible. Drip Harder is great. And lastly, Culture 2 and Beast Mode 2 were solid. It's been a great year tbh.
Oct 26, 2018 I think it really is! At least without the trash features from offset(ok not that bad) and t-shyne (trash af) added later I'm responding to the post not the title
