I started The Sopranos a few weeks ago. I'd seen the first season a few years ago, but I never finished it.

Starting on season 3 now. I really admire how understated it can be. Characters have major realizations and convey that with a subtle expression instead of an explicit conversation. Refreshing seeing a mafia story that is unmistakably critical of the lifestyle. Love how the nuclear family unit is the center of attention and contrasted against the extended "family" of the mob.

yeah it's messy and never rly "gels" under a single narrative.... but i kind of love that about it. it's about a neighborhood and how its changing w the times. it doesnt have Omar or a cop sting storyline to harness everything together.... but i think thats what it makes it all that more impressive.

its easily the best 'least talked about' show on tv

I'm watching The Sopranos as well...haven't started season 3 yet. Mostly lives up to the hype!

I also watched The Haunting of Hill House, which I thought was fine. Its blend of melodrama and conventional horror yielded mixed results for me. The long take episode is a clear highlight though, effectively mixing the aesthetics of a chamber drama with that of a horror video game. That saccharine finale, on the other hand, didn't leave a strong final impression...

recently finished The Deuce (great) and The Haunting of Hill House (good). Currently watching Bojack Horseman (just finished season 4), Better Call Saul (about halfway through season 4), and just watched the first episode of Peaky Blinders

Bout done with Big Mouth season 1. Hilarious show.

I loved that show. Watched it in about 3 days. The only thing that bugged me was how long some of the conversations lasted. They lost me at times. I believe one of the episodes has a scene that was all recorded in one take, lasting 17 minutes or so. That’s nuts.
