Feb 18, 2019Why do modern Hip Hop writers point to homophobia and sexism like it was a problem back then? In ‘98, a lot of people didn’t care. Can-I-Bus flopped honestly because of Clef’s production. His beats didn’t match Canibus. Even with all the nerd s---, Canibus was still a s--- talking MC, which at that time was good enough for decent sales. He had features, hype, co-signs. The dude even got smoked LL, a legendary rapper who still active. Clef dropped the ball.
Also, I co-sign Canibus and Stoupe’s Rip The Jacker as being his best project.

As a longtime Canibus fan i found that to be disrespectful drivel and the playlist at the end is a joke. The lack of praise for Rip The Jacker is nonsenselil uzi vert stan, Charlie Work, Sav Stanfield and 2 others like this. -

listened to it twice already and it's great! Haven't really looked into the lyrics that much, but the atmosphere and the production are on par with Jedi Mind Tricks' best work tbh
