only just recently listening to D’Angelo, cant believe how long I’ve missed out. Voodoo is a masterpiece.

Not by any means an R&B expert but The Dream’s first 2 albums were incredible. More recently also enjoyed Bryson Tiller’s Trapsoul

Got the sudden urge for some rhythm and blues right now.

My personal top ten in no particular order.

    Usher- Confessions
    Miguel- Kaleidoscope Dream
    Sisqo- Unleash The Dragon
    R Kelly- TP 2000
    Boyz 2 Men- II
Justin Timberlake- Justified (if that counts)
    D'Angelo- Brown Sugar (or Vodoo)
    Janet Jackson- Velvet Rope
    Trey Songz- Ready
    Chris Brown- Fame

I was really tempting to put Miseducation on here, but i havent really dove into it enough.

I know i missed a fuckton of them, so any other recommendations are cool.

Every D'Angelo album is so good. Brown Sugar & Black Messiah are masterpieces!

Vol. 1 is my favourite. She's neo-soul more so than RnB but god she's good. Came up during Soulquarians-era.

    Both 6lack albums are amazing.

But it sounds like OP wants the more traditional r&b sound. 6lack is more like a mix of r&b and rap.

Edit: Don’t sleep on the song Cutting Ties either. d--- crime it wasn’t included on East Atlanta Love Letter.

Ooooo baby, you're in for a treat! Let me know how you feel about those albums once you get around to them. Black Messiah is possibly my favourite D'Angelo album and Erykah Badu's albums are absolutely flawless. :rejoice:

Still havent listened to Black Messiah yet. I also need to check out those Erykah Badu albums Joel mentioned

Also I'm sure you've already listened but The Weeknd - Trilogy is definitely up there.
