Apr 22, 2019 5 years since Fewtch dropped what might be his most polarizing project to date. I've always been a big Honest fan, even though I think his work that followed (Monster, DS2, HNDXX, WIIZRD) is far, far better. I can understand some of the criticisms levelled at Honest, especially if we're comparing it to Pluto but it still holds up for me as one of the more under-appreciated entries in his catalog. Hows it holding up for you?
Apr 22, 2019 3rd best Future album after DS2 and FUTURE. Got a lot of memorable tracks like Move That Dope, I Won, Honest, Benz Friendz, s---, and Karate Chop, the one with Wayne. It really shows how Future grew since Pluto. Wasn't my favorite project of 2014, but still slaps.
Apr 22, 2019 2014 was a kinda strange year for rap. We got classics like Pinata, My Krazy Life, Cilvia Demo, Oxymoron, The Waters, Cadillactica, Faces, Under Pressure, and many more, then came the bs albums like Animal Ambition, The New Classic, GIRL. That Iggy s--- dropped the same day as Future's..
Apr 22, 2019 I loved 2014. Cilvia Demo, MKL, Oxymoron, Rich g---'s tape, Honest and Monster brought me back around listening to rap, I had completely lost interest in the early 10's. 2015 was even better though, might be the best year of the decade.
Apr 22, 2019 Always thought 2012 was the best era for the decade. GKMC, R.A.P Music, Channel Orange, L4TU, H&C, CS, Rich Forever, Yellow Album. That was pretty much the year of the mixtapes.
Apr 22, 2019 I really loved this album, has arguably one of my favorite songs ever in Benz Friends. In retrospect, it's crazy how after Honest & the heart-wrenching Ciara break-up we saw the inner demon inside of Future take over and well, the preceding run of projects speak for themselves. That to me is what fascinates me the most, the change in personality and perspective in the course of a year.
