For real, like, everything just sounds the same (same style of beat, same lyrics), maybe i'm getting bored of the genre. I'm just checking RapCaviar, Get Turn and billhoard every week to update my playlist but there are only a few songs that i like, the rest of my playlist are songs from 2017 and 2018. Everything new just sounds uninspired and with no replay value to me. Does it happen to you? do you feel the same?

Yep, I feel the same. But for me it goes back way before 2017-2018.

Maybe try artists you haven't listened to yet.The music doesn't have to be new if you have never heard it before.

I started a thread the other day.

Occasionally I branch out to other genres, so music doesn't get too generic.

Tons of great artists and albums have come out this year, and everyone who was good in 2017/2018 is still good now

A year in which Common releases yet another classic cannot, under any circumstances, be classed as boring.

Rap Caviar is the worst hip hop list ever. They usually put songs that sound the same there or the very popular ones. There is still a good amount of different hip hop but you shouldn't listen to those lists. I personally check out the every rapper from 90's and 00's like Snoop, Em etc. I also check newer artists like Anderson Paak, Mac Miller, Kendrick, Cole etc. U just gotta find some artists you'll like. I can totally see what u sayin' since trap became the main hip hop beat, most of the rappers sound very alike with the beats and the flows and even the words.

    Albums I liked in 2019:
Snoop Dogg - I Wanna Thank Me
    Boogie - Everything's For Sale
    YG - 4 Real
    Schoolboy Q - CrashTalk
I'm not sure any if there are any other albums...
Ross' album probably had few gems.
    2018 was definitely better tho.

You liked Crash Talk? Explain how someone can like that album after the classic Blank Face?

That’s only because 6ix9ine is still locked up. Wait until he gets out on time served. He denied to go into witness protection to pursue rapping. He’ll be the same ultimate troll trolling the h--- out of bloods and bums. People saying they’re going to s---t him and s---. He’s untouchable and his security trained to s---t is going to cost him 500k a month. So he’s not playing around. YouTube and IG, rap podcasts will be popping again. Just wait. No one can deny that since 69 got locked up, rap became boring and there’s no real beef or entertainment. Everyone wants him released just for his live streams and music.

Apart from the ogs, trap music has become terrible and over saturated. I find my self wanting to listen to traditional styles of rap more and more lately. Lucky theres still plenty of that.

That being said, So Much Fun is AOTY
