Jul 21, 2022 I would trust them with a 3rd show but probably prefer they just stopped and did something new. I’m sure AMC is gonna dangle an absolutely insane bag over their heads to do one more tho
Jul 22, 2022 I hope they get to the Gene timeline quickly. I’m not to fussed on seeing more of Saul in the BB timeline, or the fan service of it all, we know that character etc, we just needed to know how he got there. Gene arc has many questions and answers to be done before it ends, so hopefully it heads that way in this episode .
Jul 26, 2022 I don't think it's a filler though. Probably would have implications in the remaining episodes from here on out. Loved the episode though. It had that classic early seasons' vibe which is what got me hooked to the show in the first place.
Jul 26, 2022 One of the best episodes of the season. I like that Gene is a mix of Saul and Jimmy, adds another layer to the character. Always enjoy the episodes when they have a set up to pull off. Few foreshadowing moments eluding to Nebraska, so seems like Kim will be involved towards the end in the gene timeline and would make her background flashback scenes, have more value to it all. Look forward to see where it goes from here. I think Jesse cameo will be after El Camino events and that Kim is involved with the Vacuum business. My predictions anyways, probably way off ha.
Jul 26, 2022 I can't help but wonder if the Jeff recasting changed the Gene/Jeff storyline. In season 6 the guy was menacing and threatening whereas the new Jeff was an easily manipulated weasel.
Jul 26, 2022 I think it was meant to be this way and was a misdirect. Like we were supposed to be thinking this entire time (heavily based on the original scene with Jeff) that Gene was just some beaten down shell of Saul that was just barely scraping by in Nebraska, living in constant fear. Then they flipped the script in this episode, he is still Saul, he turned Jeff from a threat into someone he has complete control over with ease. He has likely still been running Slippin’ Jimmy scams like he was in this episode, in the Gene timeline too. The talk where he was exaggerating crying with the security guard was supposed to be revealing too. He really doesn’t have anyone left in his life and is scarred from it to the point of numbness. He really has nothing to lose anymore since he has already lost everything and that is what birthed Saul at the end of the previous episode, so why would it stop him from being Saul now?
Jul 26, 2022 The first one had more charisma too. The new one looked like he just woke up from a 12-hour sleep.
Jul 26, 2022 At first I wondered where they were going with this episode, but it got better after some time. I don't know what to expect from this show at this point though. I agree with this. There was a lot less tension this time.
Jul 26, 2022 You know what’s crazy, a 50 year broke and sick chemistry teacher, after meeting me had a pile of money stacked up like a Volkswagen a year later
Jul 26, 2022 I think Walter will also appear in a Jesse hallucination like it was with Jane in El Camino. Only way I can see it pulling it off. No idea how they will get there but any BB timeline scene just won’t make sense, nor is it needed.
