Jan 9, 2020I don't know why I'm makin this thread but I feel like contributing more to this forum. Will try to update this thread as often as possible (possibly every Friday, not limited to only rap artists). Feel free to state your opinion and if you think they will have a future. Starting with...
10cellphones
10cellphones is an North Carolina based emcee. His most popular song right now is LEAN and what can I say, the youtube algorithm did it's thing when it got recommended to me. His other songs b--- too, to quote a Youtube comment: Bra got tha formula he jus need a push.
Billyracxx
Ok, so this dude is nuts. He is different, I just haven't figured out yet if he's trying too hard to be different or if that's just himself. Anyways I love his songs and the vibe they got. At first listen it might be a little bit unsatisfying because you would expect different, flow-wise and all that, but after some time you are starting to dig his music. He has a website where he basically describes himself and his craft (very confidently) so I won't do this here. I discovered him through CHASETHEMONEY who produced a couple of his songs. To quote a youtube comment from DEADFRIENDS: I was weirdly attracted to this idk why but i like it
JBrisko
JBrisko is mad talented and probably on of my favorites, that I have discovered so far. I admit some of his songs do have an strong early XXXTentacion influence but he is definitely not a clone. He has so many amazing songs (couldn't even decide which one to post). As far as I know he hasn't made a project yet but he will release one called "Midnight Dasher" independently soon. He has a handful of songs on Youtube, Spotify and Soundcloud tho. I linked my favorites in this post (How It Goes is f---ing beautiful, like d---). A youtuber which name I can't recall anymore put Night Show in their endcard and so I got into his stuff. To quote a youtube comment from said song: TOO UNDERRATED.... WHY.
EDIT: I can't link any more media in OP

It's almost christmas, so if you're not getting the PS5, you atleast get a new awhellno recommendation, which is undoubtedly a better present.
Baby 9eno
I know that S80 loves every kind of "Baby" rapper so you might imagine how delighted I was, when I found out about this one. Baby 9eno combines classic DMV sound with some sinister elements, such as the low piano notes on UUV and Murda Game, that might put @Michael Myers in a killing mood. With production by Metro Boomin and affiliations with the A$AP Mob, he already seems to have made some important industry connections. I'm not sure why his views are so criminally low, but his music has definitely an uniqueness to it. Nevertheless, with some sufficient promotion and consistency in releasing new musical output, he could gain a serious momentum in 2021.

Nimic Revenue
Here is a very dope female MC from Minnesota. She might not reinvent the wheel (but let's be real, most of the upcoming male artists don't do that either), but I still fw her music heavy. She has a great beat selection (which is highly subjective of course), a pretty dope voice and good lyrics. Really recommend checking out her EP "Lifeline Reloaded" . I originally listened to her song "Greenroom" for the Sosa feature, but ended up liking her part more (Keef still the goat). It took me a long time to actually listen to the EP it was featured on, but when I did I was impressed. Some of y'all might dig her vibe.lil uzi vert stan, Enez, Ordinary Joel and 2 others like this. -

HateSonny
Do yourself a favor and listen to Chicago's own HateSonny. His 2020 album Golden Child is seriously a hidden gem that jumps from songs featuring his gritty voice on aggressive beats to more mellow and emotive tracks. There's ear food for everyone but the album as a whole is just a compelling body of work. He's as underground as underground can be right now but I sure hope that he finds a more broader audience. Collabing with ppgcasper might be a step in the right direction, since he racks up significantly more views and entertains a bigger listenership (remember: we are still talking about underground here). HateSonny is just another example of the amazing artists that Chicago births.Ordinary Joel, Michael Myers, RetiredAccount and 1 other person like this. -

Gedō — Rinne Tensei no Jutsu!
Thought I revive this thread. I ran out of new promising artists but there is still one or another that I want to show you.
Slatt Zy
Youngboy influence strong but I started to really enjoy his music. Goodness Grace and Remorse are amazing songs. He was born in Tennessee and made himself a name in the Chattanooga rap scene (Isaiah Rashad anyone?). Let me know what y'all think.Last edited: May 26, 2020Sav Stanfield, The Product, Ordinary Joel and 1 other person like this. -

@awhellno ran through this thread and realized I missed a few artists you dropped. Most of the earlier recommendations didn’t really catch me but the last few have been great. But Villain Park....just wow. As you put it, Breathe of fresh air.
I’ve been in a discovery mode lately so glad I rediscovered this thread. Hope you keep adding to it. You got my attentionOrdinary Joel, Sav Stanfield and Chrollo like this.
