I enjoyed both of Rude Jude's books, Hyena and Hummingbird, but if you're to only read one I would read Hyena. It could be described a just a drugologue but I still had fun for the ride.
As far as fantasy goes, I'm too preoccupied re-reading YA classics to recc anything. I need to step my game up.

    Hurricanes (Rick Ross' autobiography)

Same author did both and he does great, imo.

Mixed bag, with not much of a list to go from, but here’s what I can recall voluntarily reading (despite not finishing many, I did enjoy them):

    - 48 laws of power
    - devil in a white city
    - Steve Jobs
    - da Vinci code
    - freakonomics
    - couple of the lee child jack reacher books (killing floor was dope)
    - alchemist
    - the subtle art of not giving a f---

Based on what you’ve recently read, not sure this is up your alley. But I always jump at the chance to mention it.

My favorite book of all time is Shogun. Every single time I read it I get completely lost in its world and events. It takes place in feudal Japan, early 1600s. It’s about a English sailor who gets shipwrecked in Japan at a time when the whole country is dealing with a nasty civil war.

It’s historical fiction, so all the characters and plot points are based on real life people and historic events. It’s a massive story. That can’t be understated. It has everything: drama, suspense, action, love, culture, religion (more specifically, Japanese customs clashing with the Catholic Church’s expansion into Japan), politics, war, etc. It even has ninjas and samurais lol.

Phenomenal book. I highly recommend it to everyone. And if feudal Japan interests you at all, this is a must read.

Edit: forgot to mention, the tv channel FX is currently filming a 10 episode Shōgun miniseries. I think it comes out later this year or early next year. I can’t wait to watch it.
