Half of it is great. The other half is crap. And the name is just awful.

I always thought MMLP2 was and is a great album. The bonus tracks are some of the most inspired works from him in his career, especially when you include “Don’t Front.” Just listen to him on that ffs. They are especially incredible. The album in general shouldn’t have been named MMLP2, sonically it doesn’t fit, but canonically speaking it followed up A LOT from the first album. It was him aging the Slim Shady persona gracefully, with new lessons and the same old wit. His execution blew Recovery out of the f---ing water. Bad Guy, Evil Twin, Headlights, Brainless alone rival some of his best work. The singles were far better than Recovery, Relapse and Encore’s singles. Even sleeper tracks like Love Game, Rhyme or Reason, Legacy are examples of how comfortable and in his element he sounded. He actually took the s--- Rubin gave him and flexed on it. I seriously love this album, and I always will.

Kudos to making this thread OP. It’s cool to s--- on MMLP2 now but pretty soon it’ll be referenced as “Ems last good album” the same way they’re doing right now with Relapse, retroactively.

It's always been f---ing great. All you losers on here keep hating each album and then go back two albums previous and praise it. At this rate, Revival will be loved by the next album.

His technical skills got better with each album that passed up until Revival. This was his best effort post hiatus until Kamikaze and then MTBMB.

When mmlp2 came out everybody loved it. And compared the album with TES. I have the feeling that this is exactly what is going to happen with MTBMB.

I’m glad you gave it another spin, but like I said the name being what it is works canonically. With “Parking Lot” skit, bar references to the first album, Stan II in Bad Guy (which lets be honest, a sequel for the song Stan by sober Marshall should have been f---ing horrible!- yet it’s one of the most enrapturing songs of his career).

Currently I have MMLP2 and MTBMB as tied as his 5th best album, MMLP2 just has so f---ing much to it. It takes you into a “his” world from track 1, whereas u can kinda just breeze through MTBMB if you know what I mean. Both are strong projects - the latter of which needed to grow on me

    also

3:10-3:51 ... holy s---. You cannot tell me he doesn’t sound EXACTLY like he did in 2000. Like literally down to the intensity in his voice. This entire song was MMLP 1 Em over Relapse production. Criminally underrated.

MMLP2 was a wasted opportunity. Good concept and ideas but bad execution. Headlights is the perfect example. The song it’s only meh but could be one of the most emotional em songs like mockingbird.
Good promo but the the music wasn’t good.

Mmlp2 would have been accepted so much different if it had a different title.

It had no place having the mmlp title.

Has some classic songs on there. If you put the bonus and quit Paul pop tracks its almost a classic. Anyway i missed Dre touch on this like on Relapse Or MTBMB

MMLP2 is a solid album. Always loved it. But, since MTBMB came out......... Man. Lol

“Brainless” and “Don’t Front” sounds like they can blend in with MTBMB. That and “Groundhog day”.

Em’s post-comeback top 10 list must be difficult to make. Too much good s--- will be left off

Since it came out I thought MMLP2 is the worst eminem album. The other day I got bored of MTBMB and I went to revisit it. g.d.. The album is actually great.

First of all, you all got me hating Survival for no reason. Theres nothing wrong with it. And that stabbing my gut while wiping my butt line is not bad at all, he's saying he's not taking a bow, simple.

Monster is a great song. Lyrically on point, the beat may be a little soft but whatever.

The only songs I dont care for are Stronger and Love Game. Even last verse of stronger is actually pretty good.

This is a huge revelation for me. Its like I just got a new eminem album. Plus the bonus songs are even better.

He really messed up with naming this album though, but the actual album is great. It's better than revival for sure.

Honestly, I dont feel the urge to listen MTBMB so it may take its place on the list. I slept on this album so bad.
