p---- C not passing away. I can’t help but wonder how his sound would have evolved in the 2010s. I feel like his whole essence would have blended perfectly with today’s more modern melodic rap sound. RIP p---- C.

Also Big L not being murdered. According to Jay Z, he was about to sign with Rockerfella records around the time he was murdered. Big L had it all: personality, charisma, lyrics, and flow. He was poised to take the next step in his career and move towards the mainstream. And if he was signed with Hov, that probably would have happened. For dust heads like me, he’s one of the biggest what ifs from the late 90s early 2000s era.

Along those same lines (although no where near as impactful as other comments) Joell Ortiz’s Aftermath album.

He had just released the Bodega Chronicles where he was absolutely killing it and then signed with Dre. Joell sounds way better over east coast NY sounding beats, but I can’t help but wonder what the music sounded like when those 2 worked together.

    It's coming...
Black Star’s Talib Kweli has confirmed that their long-awaited reunion album is finished – check out the clip below.

Yasiin Bey – aka Mos Def – first announced that the hip-hop duo would be returning with a Madlib-produced new record back in February 2018.

Appearing on Apple Music’s Beats 1 to discuss g--- Starr’s new album ‘One Of The Best Yet‘ this week, Kweli was pressed on when the new Black Star LP is likely to materialise.

“This project with Madlib is done,” Kweli replied. “We’re just trying to figure out when and how to release it.”

In another unaired clip, he added: “That’s a confirmed thing. I listen to it all the time.”
