I thought he was pretty limited as an artist, but Meet the Woo Vol 1 was a very tight project that I played to death when it hit. He was proof NYC Drill could catch on beyond Bobby and 6IX and now we're back to square one with Sheff and 22Gz and Bizzy and Max and Fivio and Jaydee on deck. I've been listening to him a lot today as I'm sure most have and it's kind of f----- how much of his music celebrates his own demise. Drilling and drugs are self-fulfilling prophecies we refuse to approach beyond the scale of personal responsibility and Bloomberg's candidacy embodies the dreadful thought we might never get past that.
Most of my life I've been a fan of rap music and combat sports and they're two of the most tragic mainstream cultural products our society tolerates. They're pressure release valves from which the most afflicted members of society are propelled beyond their circumstances and reach great heights before a near guaranteed plummet back to the bottom. It never gets easier to be a fan. RIP Pop Smoke.Last edited: Feb 19, 2020Ordinary Joel, Zeugma, Rodamon and 1 other person like this. -
