I regret to inform OP that we are not in a post apocalyptic world and he can still chase his dream of being a music producer who is popular online

    DoCE I’m back

    Jun 29, 2020
I regret getting into drugs. I worked at one of the only strip clubs in Boston as a bartender but I didn’t save a dollar. I lost that job after the police came in and arrested me for a bar fight at a different bar. The kid I hit fell and hit his head and almost died. After these legal issues my life spiraled down....until I had my son. My sons mother abandoned him with me so I’ve had custody since he was a baby. This kind of made me get my s--- together. I don’t regret having my son...just who I had him with. He is 10 now and is now asking questions about his mom. Gotta learn to live with regrets...

I wish I'd traveled more in my early 20s and I wish I'd stuck with doing freelance video editing work because I miss it (and it pays way more than writing lol). Luckily these are both things I can pick back up.

For the most part I don't have any hardcore regrets cuz the way I think about it, if I had stuck with video editing for example I'd probably be wishing I'd stuck with writing right now lol. I wanted to write more than edit in the moment so I stuck with that and it's the right choice because it was what I wanted to do. It's all part of your growth/the process in figuring life out.

I use to regret dropping out of college when I was younger. Now I have two associate degrees and my bachelor's will be done next year.

Not being able to get help for the past 12 years to get over my gambling addiction , because I was so stubborn to think that I could do this on my own. This s--- made me lose my fiancee, my friends, my family trust, tons of opportunities. Sometimes I lay down in bed and look at the ceiling and picture all the things I could have or who I could be if I had never placed that first fricking bet on Djokovic vs Tsonga in 2008 at the Australian Open final.

I regret not studying aboard in college. I had an opportunity to do a semester at sea one summer - and almost did it - but I got an internship at the hall of fame in Cooperstown instead. Fun and love changing still but going port to port would’ve been dope

There are a lot of things I regret but the one that hit me the most was that I couldnt see the signs that my father was seriously ill (pancreatic cancer).
If I would have told him more often that he should go see the doctor, maybe he would be still alive today.

with sports canceled and life grinding to a halt. let's talk about the biggest regrets in life that we have and what we could of done for lack of a better term.

    I'll start.

I wish that I would of gone somewhere with the skill that I had acquired. I had dreams of being a popular hip-hop producer, I was always told that my beats were better than the actual rhyming or delivery and I had hoped to learn more and produce something that would of defined my whole career. I would of gone to venues, met up with famous artists but thanks to the coronavirus everything has come to a halt and life is going bye bye.

Additionally, I wish I wouldn't of obsessed on pointless BS like drama online and trying to be popular. Now that life is going to transition to the internet, I feel like I've wasted time trying to fit in to a society that is now dead. No sports, no politics, nothing except a Mad Max like reality where dominant groups control society and I feel like since I've got autism, I feel like I'm truly f----- in this reality, like... how am I supposed to get people to know me if they can't feel me through the text you know.

Your turn, please be as real as possible. It's an honest request, I want to read your soul here, not an internet persona.

I think that's one of those things where, at this point, you'd be thinking "I should have had more fun in my early 20s instead of scraping every penny together." Idk what your financial situation is/was, but I know in my early 20s I didn't make enough money to even bother with investing/saving beyond a savings account.

I regret not getting a lawyer and filing my mother as incompetent as she basically spent her entire pension in a year because of a shopping addiction.

Not going to J-School for undergrad.

Trying to hook up with certain girls in Uni. 80% of the time it didn’t work out and one situation was particularly bad.

Spending so much money in my early 20s going to clubs instead of putting that money toward investments.

Not pursuing freelance writing more after being rejected. Especially not chasing bigger or international publications.
