Im saying the only real analogues is they're both dre produced debut's that kick-started each artists career in some way but Thematically pretty different albums.

I wasn't sayin "GRODT has a betr title das y I like it" No I give GRODT the nod cause it bumps in the whip you idiot

no, they’re the closest comparison because at the time doggystyle dropped it was the most anticipated debut in rap history, and nothing matched it in pure hype until get rich.

“bumps in the whip...” why are you talking like a youtube commenter from 2012

(also they’re not that “thematically different” they’re both about becoming a rap star in the wake of a shooting lol)

i mean yeah, allegedly shooting someone and getting shot 9 times are very similar i agree... 0 likes too... this post does not bump in the whip.

(if they aren't that thematically different, then yeah DOggystyle loses out because both albums are near perfect, but one is named after a sex position, as opposed to say a hip hop mantra. sorry bud you lost, try another rap discussion.)

guys... 50 is a great rapper and get rich is a classic debut, but it’s a classic in part because of how big it was; it doesn’t have like half of the best songs 50 had made to that point in his career and doesn’t really showcase the side of him everyone loved before “in da club,” the side you get on “life’s on the line.” it has a handful of mediocre songs. doggystyle is the absolute apex of a subgenre that changed rap forever.

Yeah I agree, so why even try to argue that pot-smoke-r-----ed dogg is anywhere on par with 50?

But that's more-so Dre/Warren G/Daz's production that was the "apex of a subgenre" not snoop dogg. 50 changed the very-late-90s. If it wasn't for 50 00's rap would of been some pseudo boom bap bs that we've heard before countless times over 3 decades.
