Jun 9, 2020Who would have thought 3 years later that the song Joe Budden claimed “was the worst song he ever heard” would make such a huge comeback and be relevant to what is happening today. All of these recent Untouchable YouTube reactions in light of George Floyd’s death made me revisit the track. Really genius material by EM and eerily ahead of his time as it is now finally getting respect.

Well actually Em did untouchable long before "im not racist" was out so he didnt draw any inspiration from joyner at all he just didnt release it right away cus he waited to finish his album. He showed jimmy iovine, dre and rubin the song and they were blown away and wanted him to save it for the album cus it would be a killer way to have it as some sort of street single, Em and denaun wanted to release it right away cus he had done that song purely out of agression towards the situation in america at that time, he wanted just people to hear it without any strings attached but them three changed his mind so he waited. Not sure what exactly would have happened if he just released it with "no strings attached", "its from my album that will drop in a month!", people def took it as "he just wants to act woke to promote his album" and "ugh he only copies what joyner already has done". so yeah i do think it would've been recieved different if he would done it the way he wanted to, but nice it starts to get some new recognition rn.
Oh and i gathered this info from the new Em book by the anthony guy i think his name was, also the only interesting story from the whole book for that matterCustommustardstain, modli, kodo and 2 others like this. -

the first part is annoying while the 2nd part IS A CLASSIC...sad cause Em spitting nothing but facts in the best way possible and describes everything perfectly but the execution of the track was just bad. It could've been bigger than White America with the right execution. Still love the fact he speaks up for this s--- thoAlpha, ThugLifer, Z Gangsta and 1 other person like this. -

Do you mean the other way round?
The first part when he’s screaming white boy, white boy is very loud, obnoxious & tone deaf imo. I rate the effort & understand what he was trying to do i.e first verse from a white perspective hence the rock vibe, but it didn’t really work musically.
However the beat switch into the second part of the song is great.Alpha, ThugLifer, Z Gangsta and 1 other person like this. -
