The question "who am I" is the most important question you can ask yourself, and when you really investigate you can discover something really powerful and life changing.

Are you your body? Body changes basically every atom every couple of years so the material that makes you changes constantly, yet you remain you, so you cannot be the physical structure of your body.

Are you your memories, personality, your past?
You could bump your head and lose all memory and have a different personality, but you would still feel like it is the same you to whom that happens, so you're not those either.

We often limit our true self to our conscious decisions, like we all take ownership of our thoughts "I thought of that", but do not take ownership of our hair growing. But if you consider it more carefully, the thoughts you think happen on their own, you do not actually do anything to have a thought appear in your head, it just happens as automatically as your heart beats or hair grows. If you take ownership of thinking your thoughts, you have to say "I beat my heart, I work my thyroid gland" etc.
So if conscious decision means nothing in terms of who you are, in other words, your thoughts and decisions come from the same place as the beating of your heart, you cannot seperate yourself from anything.

Thoughts are being thought, heart is beating, hair is growing in the same way as the sun is shining, the earth is rotating, galaxies are formint. It is all just happening and if you are to be anyone and assume ownership of any action, you can say "I am moving the planet, making a tree grow".

In short, you are the universe. Literally.

My bare consciousness is the same as your bare consciousness because we already concluded the content of our consciousness does not make you you.

What you are essentially is what everything and everyone else is. Its the same "thing" manifested in a variety of ways, as humans, animals, suns, stones, galaxies, etc. If there is a god, that god is manifested as the universe and is seeing itself through our eyes in the same way you are looking at your mind manifested as the world when you dream.

One dreamer is dreaming this whole universe (or any number of universes) and simultaneously assumes a form of a character in that dream. I am you literally. There is just one "I".
