70mm is actual film. Although IMAX is technically 70 mm, its still a chance of it being presented in digital which is not as high of a resolution as actual film

I wrote on a favourite film which I've never critically analyzed before. I wanted to understand why it's the masterpiece nobody believes it to be.

As somebody raised on JCVD, and this film in particular, I honestly don't think his stuff has aged as well as Jackie Chan's or Arnie's. Universal Soldier is still amazing though.

Sounds too, unnecessarily hard honestly. So many great docs and bland but honest biopics have been made on the topic that a Tarantino styled film comes off super gross to me. This is not the place to make your gritty, off the wall, exploitation murder movie.

But we don't necessarily know how he will approach this. He could be abandoning the highly stylized violence like the first half of The Hateful Eight. I have a feeling that he's on some new s--- now.

That movie descends into full on Tarantino in a hurry, same with the buildup in Death Proof. There's not a single film in his career that tells me he can handle this delicately or at the very least do so from a serious POV.

I think as an artist he should be allowed to have a clean slate and be given a chance to tackle this, I personally am interested in the thought of this, if it is distasteful and childish I'll obvs be disappointed but as of right now I have a feeling that he's in a different space and ready to tackle film in a more mature way.
