    As much as I want this to happen, I think the Celtics' time will come after LeBron's decline (hopefully within the next 5 years). I think they'll flirt with the ECF the next few years (whether making it, or missing out).

    That's why I don't want them to trade their assets though. I want them to be patient and keep building for the future. They basically gave up nothing for Crowder and IT, so it was low risk/high reward trades. I look at these next couple years as bridge years to something greater.

    If you have access to watch your favorite team but don't tune into any of their games until the playoffs, I don't consider you an actual fan.

    But really, let's ask the question

    How valuable are you when you lose a top 5 player IN THE WORLD who was THE face of your franchise, and you are pretty much a guaranteed shot (barring an absurd collapse) at making the playoffs. Most other teams in history have crumbled.

    Russ is consistently making something from nothing. I've said since day one the Thunder are nothing without Dipo and Russ, by 80% of that from Russ.

    Get to top 3 or it's not happening, look at the past MVP winners. Curry, KD, Lebron, Rose, Dirk, Kobe, Nash, all top 2-3 seeds.

    2001 Iverson won as a 6th seed. I'm not saying it's common, but what Russell is doing is even more rare. He's approaching a record NBA analysts have always considered one of those freakish records that will never ever be broken. Similar to Wilt's 100 point game, Wilt averaging 50 points a season, Stockton's steals and assists career numbers. But Russ is actually doing it

    A once in a life time historic season deserves an uncommon exception to be made

    If you are leading a team that would be one of the worst teams in the league without you into the playoffs, you're pretty valuable to me. The Thunder are a completely different team when he's on the bench.
