Ether isn’t a great diss song. The beat alone convinced millions of listeners that Nas bodied Hov. The lyrics aren’t even that insulting. Takeover and super ugly were way more vicious.

War Pain is the best diss record in the Drake vs Meek beef and if it had all happened in an era where music wasn't expected to happen instantly the beef would be remembered very differently

This may be more popular now that it’s being reappraised, but Relapse is sequenced to be a metaphor or meta commentary on Eminem’s career, dysfunction and descent into drug addiction.

So what does the ending the album with “Underground” represent? One of my fav of all time but could never really hone in on exactly what he was getting at? #ProstheticsAndHardTacos

So what unpopular Opinions on hip hop do you hold?
    Mine?
Juvenile was the best rapper on cash money and has better presence than Wayne.

I'm sure there's already a thread but you got me f---in bent you think I'm digging over than under a minute to find it

Yeah I think it was in reference to the overhyped Control verse which I can understand tbh. That verse doesn’t go anywhere near Kendrick’s highs, but definitely picked an odd fight.

    Just off the top

    1. Tha Carter 4 is better than Tha Carter 5. It's just that the former was released when Wayne was still dominating and people were having "Wayne fatigue" while the latter was released when people were starving for a Wayne album after a long hiatus which caused it to have less harsh criticism.

    2. Eminem's comedy in his prime was sorta cringey and not that funny. Ditto for Ludacris. I know everyone thinks they were hilarious but I always found Sean Price and Devin the Dude to be much more naturally hilarious. And this is coming from someone who enjoyed prime Eminem overall.

    3. Stillmatic by Nas is far superior to Illmatic from a songwriting perspective.

    4. Igor was generic as h--- and if it were made by Kanye, Pharrell, or Andre 3000, the ratings wouldn't have been as high

    5. Fans who dickride Metacritic and Pitchfork when ranking rappers are just as bad as people who dickride sales and hits.

Looks like I need to go on a Biggie binge and understand him a little better.
