Legacy is a top tier Em song, my favorite song on the album but the Italian sausage line kills it. He does that a lot in his second half of his career. Actually makes a good song then kills it with a stupid a--- bar.

I feel like MMLP was where Em was at in his life at that time. And MMLP2 is the same in that respect. I don’t think it was ever meant to sound like the original tbh. Of course we got nods to the original and some Slim Shadyish songs, but beyond that he talks about his insecurities, childhood, getting older, forgiving his mom, etc.
Literally Marshall Mathers life in 2013, not 2000, thus MMLP2.

Surprisingly Survival is actually my favorite track off the whole album believe it or not. The 2nd verse reminds me of old Em like a mix of Encore with MMLP

Don’t Front was supposed to be on the original track list instead of Survival but the sample didn’t clear in time so became a bonus track with CoD Ghosts, maybe that’s what you’re thinking of?

Tbh? Writing was 10/10 on MMLP2, it's just execution of some songs, like for instance: a------ - top notch verses, but hook and beat were trash.

Man why does he have such bad taste with everything besides writing. How can you be Dre’s sidekick & basically become an emulator of his production & then lose all sense of what a good beat or hook is 1 year later & for the foreseeable future lmao

I still think the wordplay on MMLP2 is the peak of any American rapper (excluding battle rap & freestyles). I’m talking about the subtlety, the fact it never strays away from content, flow or rhyme scheme, it’s nuts & I’m convinced most of it went over people’s heads. Which would make sense why he keeps pointing random bars out these days with ad libs. He’s declined in complexity since though, I’d like to see a return to it.
