Jul 28, 2020The difference between the ones you mentioned and the ones you, um, pitched are that the latter have to do with race and the former don't. It would obviously be a horrible look for a white rapper to be rapping George Floyd punchlines for shock value.

The fact Em said:
‘Killshot, i will not fail, im wit the Doc still, but this idiots boss pops pills and tells him he’s got skills, But, Kells, the day you put out a hit’s the day Diddy admits that he put the hit out that got Pac killed.....AH!’
Debunks ur whole thread. -

Yeah dude I remember that line for line.
I don’t agree with this though. He definitely crossed the line on Revival plenty of times, making it his most controversial and best album of all time. -

Although I disagree to a certain extent. He's offensive on purpose but to the stereotype that can't seem to hurt him back. He's just clever with who he goes at. -

"I crush throats like Derek Chauvin"
"Your pleads mean nothing to me like you're George Floyd"
those are some ruthless lines...I know some white kid from the south are taking those lines lol for his racist freestyle rant
if a black artists used that in a diss...it would be acceptable though...just saying
Em is smart enough to clown celebrities or white serial killers or white presidents because he’s aware of the culture he represents....He would be the ultimate villain if he went psycho with lines like that... -

Eminem is famously offensive with his lyrics, but when you examine it more deeply, he's only pretending to be offensive and pretty much plays it safe.
For example, he will proudly say
"They wanna Jon Bennet me"
"Like I'm outside of an Ariana Grande concert waiting"
"Murder you on track like Tony Stwart"
but he will never apply that sort of comparison to where it might actually hurt his career.
For example, he will never say
"I crush throats like Derek Chauvin"
"Your pleads mean nothing to me like you're George Floyd"
or any number of creative wordplays he surely could come up with to compare his destructive force to that of that cop, or his opponents as helpless as George Floyd, even though it technically falls under the same category as comparing himself to Charles Manson, which he frequently does. But this comparisment would ruin him, it wouldn't be an edgy Eminem line no one really cares about so that he can play it off as offensive, it would actually be offensive and he wouldn't do that. He would even be opposed to someone else saying it because I'm sure that to him it's something you don't joke about.
He also would never make a joke about jews, even though it is something that he would have done by now if he's really just making fun of everyone and everything to provoke reaction. But no, he's pretty safe.
So yea, Eminem is actually not consistent in his character and draws lines where it suits him.JaimeL, Detroit24 and accountno24572 like this.Jan 7, 2026(This ad goes away when signing up)
