Anyone here actually collect music? I know some of you do, so let’s talk about what we have and recent pickups!

Personally, I like collecting things and records are the best thing to collect. For me it gives me more incentive to listen to an album because I paid for it. Also makes it more of an experience because you’re putting it on and listening as opposed to passively letting Spotify play. Let’s gooo

I have some cds too and have been considering getting more into them because why not? You can find gold at thrift stores for 99cents a piece

picked these up today. Had no idea clones was released on vinyl and also I don’t think I ever listened to it front to back so I said why not? Basically bought it off the strength of Frontin alone.
Second one is Like A Ship by Pastor TL Barrett who is probably most famous for being sampled on FSMH. As a non religious guy this gospel album goes. I’d recommend checking out the title track

I used to. Collected all the CDs. My proudest item was a real physical copy of the Ice Cube - k--- at Will EP. It took me YEARS to find that.

Used to have a huge DVD/Blu Ray collection as well. Sold them all when I got married though 9 years ago to help fund the wedding.

Sold all of my CDs as well a few years ago as they were just collecting dust. Sold them on MusicMagpie (a site that just offers you pennies on th scan of a barcode). I got £5+ for Pharoah Month Internal Affairs. Thought it was weird at the time why I got so much for it but didn't think much more of it. After I sent it I done some research and it turns out the original album was pulled because of a successful copywrite claim. It sells on eBay for $100+.

It's not a complete loss though, for some unknown reason I own 2 copies of the album and on that site I can only sell one of them at a time. So kept the second one.

Dvds are another one I collect and everyone calls me crazy for it but whatever, I like the special features. Tv Box sets I’m big on too. Thinking about starting up a criterion blu ray collection but they’re so f---ing expensive so I guess we’ll see.

Also that pharaoh monch thing is crazy. Insane how much some of that stuff goes for. I remember when a friend of mine was selling off his cassette collection he had an original copy of beastie boys Paul’s boutique he got around 150 for.
CDs are good to collect because everything gets released on CD so it’s easy to collect. There’s a tragedy khadafi album i really like that’s never been pressed on vinyl so I ordered the CD. Better than nothing

Have the same 808s record but lost the CD and I almost want to replace the whole thing. How does mbdtf sound? I want to get it but I’m always a bit skeptical about rap pressings

I had a feeling because I’m familiar with moon shake because the donkey Kong country bootleg which is a grail of mine. They’re not even allowed to sell it on Discogs. Nice though that’s a massive pick up

Bro the first night I got the 808s vinyl, I accidentally let the one side lean back too far and it tore a little bit and it pisses me off lol. I’ll probably just grab another one at some point simply because of that.

I actually love the quality of the MBDTF sound. Obviously, it’s not as clean as, say, LR or 808s, but neither was the master on the digital versions. The only thing that sucks is they made it a 3 LP for collector’s sake, I guess? And it only has like one or two songs on each side of a couple, but there was no way I wasn’t going to cop it since it’s my favorite album OAT
