    the travis scott meal is so crazy to me. the commercial where his gold tooth, like, glistens is a very minstrel image imo.......................

    It’s always just felt like a lifeless piece of work where one song bleeds into the other to make one boring experience. I know it was always present, but I feel like this is really where his “dark” aesthetic peaked in a very uninteresting way. Before this, his music felt fleshed out and fun and almost layered a bit more. At this point, Astro world has already been announced before as his next project and was hyped to be an opus of sort. I’ve always felt like this was just filler to lead into Astro world and hold people over.
    It’s peak “make that s--- dark” and frankly overall just uninteresting at least to me

    I feel you. Coordinate and way back are prolly the definition of "make that s--- dark" music and I agree it got pretty bland during those moments. I still feel songs like through the late night, biebs and even the 3k song was kinda iconic imo.

    Yeah I agree, the whole things f----- up. I know people are saying it’s been done before but between this and fortnite and the Nike stuff it’s like he’s being forced down our throats from all angles. Capitalism is an odd spot right now and they found the perfect person to market to us (kids specifically).

    as a dude who’s into gear also I don’t even want to get started on what he’s done to clothing and sneaker culture

    I don’t think it’s strange, he’s terrible but he’s also everywhere. Can’t listen to an album from a rapper I like without Travis showing up to bring the whole project grinding to a halt.

    I wouldn't call myself a fan of him either, but I don't mind him. I've liked some of the stuff he did.

    I really don't like him on features either but he does make great albums compared to other rappers in his category
