Nov 5, 2020 Eminem is already heralded as one of Hip Hop’s greatest artists of all time. The diamond-selling MC has broken numerous records throughout the course of his illustrious career and is consistently setting new ones. His 2002 single “Lose Yourself,” for example, just surpassed one billion plays on Spotify — and that’s just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. But producer Boi-1da thinks Slim Shady is severely underrated as a producer. On Thursday (November 5), the veteran beatsmith shared a TJAYwitter post that read, “Eminem doesn’t get enough credit as a producer, he has gems The Detroit-bred “rap god” has producer credits on songs such as D12’s “Purple Pills” and 50 Cent’s“Many Men (Wish Death).” He’s also produced or co-produced many of his own songs, including “Superman,” “Guilty Conscience” and “Cleanin’ Out My Closet.” Meanwhile, Boi-1da has crafted several beats for Slim Shady himself, including the Recovery tracks “Not Afraid” and “Seduction” and the Kamikaze cut “Lucky You” featuring Joyner Lucas. The 34-year-old producer is also an in-house producer for Drake’s OVO Sound label and has worked with Drake, Rihanna, JAY-Z, Nicki Minaj, Nas, and Kendrick Lamar, among others.
Nov 5, 2020 Agree. "The Way I Am" and most of TES too. Meanwhile, ironically, Boi-1da gets too much credit as a producer. He sucks a---.
Nov 5, 2020 I'd say that's correct. I thought this was kind of a consensus. He has some great beats on his resume.
Nov 5, 2020 He’s for sure underrated as a producer. But yeah he’s not top tier or anything. I just find it funny when people call his beats trash.
Nov 6, 2020 classic...forgot about that one 1 of the few trick trick song I enjoyed...his flow is exactly how Em would rap over this beat....probably coached by Em...the chorus on the other hand is meh
