This is why people have trouble debating with Eminem fans. You're packing a whole bunch of meaning into a song that isn't actually there. And yet you're so convinced of it (for some reason) that you can't be reached on an intellectual level, I won't be able to talk you out of it despite the total lack of evidence supporting your point. Do you REALLY think if you asked Eminem, his response would be "Uhhhh yeah. The song's about being a role model and a son and a literal soldier. That's what I intended for you to take from it." No, it may SEEM more important to you but in reality it's merely a song about "rap beef". It's a very good song about "rap beef", but that's all it is. You just took everything that soldier COULD be a metaphor for, that also applies to Em, and assumed that he meant it in that nature. It's all in your head lol. There are no context clues suggesting you're right, and in fact it wouldn't make sense if you were because it totally distracts from the point of the song. He pretty explicitly spells out what he's talking about, there's no reason to believe there's this overarching symbolism like you're saying.

But yeah, keep going through life thinking Like Toy Soldiers is about Eminem being a decent son!!

Not even sure where to start with this horrible, horrible post ("go to Rap Genius" "never before heard revelations" "not a three syllable rhyme in sight" ), but let's start here: plz list all six metaphors from the opening line of Like Toy Soldiers.

not to mention, even if your points here were good (they aren't, they're embarrassing and perfectly indicative of how you overanalyze Marshall's music), you're being disingenuous. Like Toy Soldiers is the only truly high-quality song on Encore on a lyrical level. Much easier to use it to prop up the album because it's an outlier. That's like me using Drips to explain to you why The Eminem Show is s--- - it wouldn't be a fair look at the album. You aren't writing paragraphs defending Rain Man and Just Lose It and Puke because they aren't songs worth defending - but they're far more par for the course on Encore than Like Toy Soldiers is.

Jesus Christ, will you listen to yourself? "how many people he helps"??? It's hard to read cringeworthy s--- like this. Particularly when you're contrasting it with Marshall, who has shown contempt for his fans for years.
