    • Hasn't had that much material but he has a unique almost unorthodox sound that grabs heavy Southern & Midwestern influence, maybe appealing to some while most might dismiss it as unoriginal.
    • Shortcoming's I'd say are his work ethic and he sometimes sounds repetitive or uninspired. Not a bad lyricist but not a great one either.
    • Has a lot of charisma and he raps over some heavenly production, his music is fun to listen to imo.
    • Best song? I'd go with Brand New Guy or Peso been playing both religiously for awhile.
    • Lastly I think he has a bright future if he tries expanding his artistic range and stays consistent. He's a big personality outside of music so that helps too.

I like Rocky and what he represents to the rap community as a whole. Someone who's considered more "street" but is possibly the most fashionable man in rap. Sure, we've had Kanye for years, but he's always been viewed as a bit of a weirdo and was too different to have an effect on your average rappers clothing, but Rocky was the first "normal" guy to come out and do it. I feel like that's gonna be big later on down the road influencing the way rap artists dress 5, 10 years from now.

But on to his music, I think it's dope. Many people dismiss him as a ripoff of the southern sound coined by Houston and Memphis, but if you listen to it you can tell a difference. His producers, Clams Casino in particular, add a tinge of ethereal cloud rap production to his southern sound, creating new and interesting beats that let his charisma and charm ooze onto the track. Rocky may not be an excellent lyricist, but he's just plain fun to listen to. At his core, rocky is the perfect example of what is great about modern rap. He's a young kid from new York but doesn't act like a hood rat and instead opts to be one of the most fashionable men in America. He doesn't even have a new york influence in his music, instead re-engineering sounds and styles from across the country. And he doesn't always bring bars, but what he lacks in lyricism he more than makes up for it in excellent, charismatic delivery. To me, that sound like the best of what modern rap has to offer.
