Hahahaha that's me. Sorry guys, I was out of the house since about 10PM last night and I just got back home.
Got some reports of racism in the topic, just finished catching up and I didn't see anything that really broke the three basic rules we have here (1. No racism 2. No exposures 3. No download links). I can't stop @csw621 from thinking we don't like Eminem because he's white (
), but if he or anyone else starts making legitimate racist comments (ie, ones that are meant as a personal attack and it's clear are not in jest), they're probably going to get a 24 hour ban from me or someone else. Something like "third world english" might be derogatory, but it isn't inherently racist (people of all races live in third world countries) and csw's comment about white people and white walls was kinda funny/facetious from my perspective.
Discussions get heated, and it's kinda disappointing when they turn into Kanye vs. Eminem and then into pure ad hominem, but as @Koolo said a few pages back, it seemed like pretty typical Narsh vs. CSW.

its hype wasn't just on SL lol. Yeezus was by far one of the biggest album of the year for casual fans of hip hop as well. It was a staple at every and any party I went to.
So because you don't like something that makes others tasteless for liking it? Maybe if we're talking about a universally hated project, but Yeezus was critically acclaimed. It was a huge part of 2013 as a whole. A lot of your criticism is unfounded (just because you mention dead composers you heard about in music class back in 3rd grade doesn't mean you had any valid points), and YOU haven't really defended anything you've said.
The "tasteless yeezy stans" are actually the ones trying to explain what the like and dislike about Yeezus/Kanye in general.
All you needed to say was you didn't like Yeezus/current Kanye, but you went to try and make objective statements that were just false.
opinions are fine, but don't confuse them for fact. you already said you like "rap-ish bass heavy beats" like what Dre makes, so obviously
He'll never see how that works lol
>Beyonce is a good singer. fact.
>Some people like her music, some people dont.
>Eminem is a very capable rapper. fact.
>Eminem makes pretty average music nowadays, a lot of people don't like it. A lot of people still do.
You get how this works yet?
No, that's not how it works lol.
If you didn't enjoy an album, that means you don't like it.
If somebody doesn't enjoy Revolver, that doesn't mean it's a bad album. It's still an all time classic.
If they take the time to expand on what they don't like, what's bad about it, etc. Put it in stone - then good for them, they'll have the only bad review of Revolver ever in existence lol
The album will still be considered overwhelmingly incredible, but there will now be people out there who've made arguments for it being bad.
Not enjoying something simply = not liking it. That doesn't mean it's bad or good. There's no objective statement to be made aside from liking it or not liking at that point. That's all.
Expanding on why you did or didn't like it/providing an actual argument, and THEN calling it good or bad = being objective.

I agree with your point completely. Yeezus is a good project overal but it just isn't for me. However even though it's by far my least favourite Kanye album, it proves the guy simply has no bad solo albumNarsh, RetiredAccount, DKC and 1 other person like this. -

I like Kanye West. I'm not a Kanye West hater or anything. I always check it out when he releases something new. And I have many songs of him that I listen to a lot. MBDTF kinda aged bad for me but it was impressive enough for me to actually go and buy the s---. But most of the people in SL ( I believe most of those guys are here too.) were acting like he was the greatest thing ever happened in rap and definetley it is not!
Yeezus was really wack. The beats were wack for real. Yes he really tried different things but different never means good. The album is more unlistenable than Relapse. His production is not good too. Even MBDTF's production wasn't the best. I always felt like he is very overrated. Anyway how many people thinking that Kanye's getting worse! And FourFiveSeconds is also wack.
What do you guys think of Kanye and his last album "Yeezus"??fiddster, VerJoh, GanjaGod and 1 other person like this.Nov 18, 2025(This ad goes away when signing up) -

Dude I was thinking about saying this earlier, but the debate had already been past this: you just said that yeezus was really wack and that the beats are wack for real, and that the production isn't good too. Do you really think that you made a proper explanation? Many things have been said to not only defend Yeezus, but to actually justify its position among the better records of 2013. The atmosphere it creates, Kanye's charisma is shown in every track (especially when it's combined with sarcasm like in New Slaves: "y'all throwing contracts at me, you know that n***** can't read"), the glorious ending... A well constructed experimental rap record, which shows Kanye's personality in every verse or sound effect. There are certain things that Yeezus aimed for, and it achieved them almost in full; it may not be your cup of tea, but you literally just say post after that post, that Yeezus is bad, without any valid reasoning. Come on dude. There are in depth reviews about why Yeezus is considered good but you just refuse to see the points that are made, I can't understand why. It makes you look closeminded as f--- tbh. The thread had some entertaining pages though, which is nice.
Also, I don't get how Kanye is overrated. There are a few posts earlier in the thread, about how flawless his catalog is, and that he hasn't made a bad song ever, and stuff like that. I obviously disagree with this, but the amount of mediocre or even bad tracks in his career is very limited (Drunk and Hot Girls, which is a guilty pleasure of mine, the new song with Rihanna and Paul McCartney is another example, we could find a few more but these came to my mind now) but his catalog is just great. Even if we don't consider his influence in the genre, he has 3 undeniable classics in CD, LR and MBDTF, 808's and Yeezus which are both very good in their own right, and 2 very good albums in Graduation and WTT. And we're just talking about his own projects only. Can you really overrate a rapper with a catalog like this?DKC, Narsh and CODEiNE DEMON like this. -
