Dec 12, 2020 Didn't get the chance to check it out but a friend of mine sent me this one and I love it.
Dec 12, 2020 haven't listened to anything but his hits thus far, but i'm halfway through and it's pretty well done tbh. production is nice
Dec 13, 2020 Its been dope seeing 2 people from the city make it. That being said I cant really get into harlow. Not trashing him or anything but it's almost the same flow/cadence/delivery on every track. But never the less hes gaining traction and doing his thing.
Dec 13, 2020 Who is the other one? I found Harlow right before he blew when I discovered his confetti album. I liked that more than his earlier albums. It seems to be a good listen front to back. The production carries him on some songs but I’m a fan. He’s found his niche.
Dec 13, 2020 Jack Harlow is just too much of a yakubian for me. His s--- doesn’t rly stand out to me besides being the most prominent white face in the pop-trap/trap adjacent sphere which isn’t worth much when ur not at least adding something to it
Dec 13, 2020 Reminds me of like mgk just before his newest faux-punk angle or like logic after those first few tapes, like there is literally nothing being done that someone else isn’t doing better there’s just a weird thing about mediocre white boys and ppl who “don’t usually listen to rap” gravitating towards them
Dec 14, 2020 i wouldnt compare him to mgk, for the most part MGK was rapping fast and had more aggressive/reflective content, never considered myself an mgk fan but he usually had a couple songs id like off an album here and there. idk about logic bc ive never sat thru a whole project of his. If i compared him to anyone it would be drake when he raps, from content, to flow and delivery. "ppl say ive changed, i do this for my city, i have way too many options for women now and its causing me issues" I 100 % agree with white people that dont listen to rap seem to gravitate towards MGK, Logic, and jack tho. always been funny to see that too
Dec 14, 2020 Yeah I get what you mean. He's got a great flow and decent sound but nothing that makes him stand out. More tolerable than MGK/Logic/G Eazy/Macklemore tho The best white rapper other than Eminem was Mac Miller (rip) by faaar. Towards the end I wouldn't have even classed him as a rapper he was that versatile. He had genuine depth and was musical af. So weird he never really blew up
Dec 14, 2020 I like grouping white kids together as much as the next guy but I feel like he somewhat has his own lane right now (even though he's not bringing anything new to the table). He's obviously not biting Eminem, etc. Not as rock/fast/try-hard as MGK Not as suave/serious as G-Eazy (although that "shut up" line in Tyler Herro gets REAL close) Not as goofy as Lil Dicky
Dec 14, 2020 Most comparable might be some other frat-rappers like Hoodie Allen? lmao I feel like Mac evolved into more of an artist than a rapper (god that sounds like a youtube comment fml)
Dec 14, 2020 He a well rounded pop rapper imo. That’s why I said he’s the White B.o.B, he reminds me a lot of him and Sean, his new album had some s--- that sounded Drake inspired. I’d take him over MGK, G Eazy all day
Dec 14, 2020 as Far as white rappers go he’s top tier but that’s not saying much tbh, he nowhere near Mac or Em
