I’ve been working from home the entire time my son has been on this planet (14 months) so I feel ur pain

I’m about to be a full time worker and stay at home dad next week when my partner goes back to work

The problem is I don't even think he's in pain at this point (that was last week at the very beginning of the teething) I feel like now it's just causing sleep regression and I was also reading at this age is when the seperation anxiety starts. I was able to break him out of the habit of sleeping in our arms and was taking to napping in his bassinet very well but this last week or so he's wide awake the second his back touches the bed lol. I appreciate your advice and mad respect for one dad to another for having what it takes to be the one raising your child. I've realized not a lot of guys want to be part of that. Would you say your kids easier now at 14 months? My sons very clingy and stubborn so I hope around a year that goes away.

yeah it definitely could be a sleep regression/separation anxiety.

we started napping our guy in his crib at 2 months old to get him away from that cycle of relying on us being there to help him sleep. plus it made the transition to his crib a lot easier.

Is he on a tight schedule? our guy was having 3 naps per day around that age, same time every day. look into controlled crying method, basically you place him in his bed and let him cry for 3 min, then comfort him, 5 min, then comfort him, 7 min etc etc. that helped him learn to fall asleep on his own. He’s around that age where he understands you’re still around even if you’re not in the same room.

I wouldn’t say 14 months is any easier or harder than the months before. It’s a different type of hard. long gone are the days of putting him in a playpen with a few toys and taking a minute to relax. my boy is super active and needs to be into everything he can get his hands on.

He is/was on a very predictable sleeping schedule napping schedule but he has times when that's just out the window and as far as the crying it out method I feel like that is the answer to all our problems BUT my gf doesn't believe in it even the one you suggested for 3 minutes at a time. Says it'll damage him and I feel like that's where the biggest issue is ever since he was born he was held 24/7...literally. I know people say you can't spoil a baby but I believe you can't spoil a baby until you actually spoil them. All he knows is to be held and he's at the point where he knows it and knows if he whines he'll get what he wants dude ruthless. 7 months and I feel like I've never had the "put him in his play center to get a few minutes to relax" phase lol. I'm excited for him to really play I feel like once he can play and walk/crawl that'll be a huge relief and when he's at the stage where he wants to be in all our s--- we got this massive playpen which I hope helps.

Re listening to ice cubes albums very talented dude especially in his earlier work pre war and peace albums. Sucks a lot of his earlier work is great but the quality of that music is so a--- he should go back and remaster that stuff. He's one of my favorites but I can't imagine checking out his newer stuff just seems like a different artist now.
