Jun 10, 2016 7/10 Has some great songs, Im suppose to die tonight is a standout, but other than that, its painfully average to bad. Gatman and Robin is so f---ing terrible, especially compare to what we got from em on the last album
Jun 10, 2016 8/10 I liked the shift to a more aggressive 50, too bad it didn't connect as well as his Dre collabs did.
Jun 10, 2016 i just read through the last few pages and realized how much i hate everyone on this site.
Jun 15, 2016 The Massacre was kinda the last album released before Shady/Aftermath collapsed. It cements his legacy in that nearly every song is a radio-ready hit...I can't even remember which was the lead single. Unfortunately its unnecessary length keeps it from being truly great even though some of his best songs are on here (I'm Supposed to Die Tonight). I should dig out my retrospective on this I wrote for its 10th anniversary. 6.8/10
Jun 16, 2016 Based upon 20 ratings, SXN80 gives The Massacre a 7.3. @RateThisAlbum In honor of Still Brazy... [6/16/16] YG - My Krazy Life [2014]
Jun 16, 2016 8/10 one of the best albums of 2014. Showed YGs knack for making enthralling narrative based west coast rap music
Jun 16, 2016 A very good album that brought attention to the west coast. Although it sometimes sounds too similar, the production is a highlight for me. YG has incredible amount of charisma and it shines through in this album. Most of the time, I can't take him seriously even when he raps about grim issues cause I'm too busy laughing. Dude made a very fun album to listen to. 8/10
Jun 17, 2016 9/10. A really really good album. Easy to listen through, really has that 'day in the life' type vibe. Love the bangers in My Niggaz and Who Do You Love, plus the more narrative driven tracks in between.
Jun 17, 2016 3/10 Everyone seems to love this album but I simply do not get it. Production is god awful thanks to DJ Mustard and his general influence on the album. YG is not a very impressive rapper, as he's pretty mediocre throughout whether it'd be in his actual rapping or storytelling. And really the "concept" of this album looks good on paper, but the way YG crafts it makes it tired, not engaging me in the slightest. Though, at the end of the day it's really the production that kills the album for me. I'll probably still check out Still Brazy tho as there's apparently no DJ Mustard production on there.
Jun 17, 2016 8.5/10 Phenomenal album with only one weak song. Grimace was the star of the show here, let's be real. "Blasting on them busters, got your baby mama twerking soo woo" The production gets slightly boring, but YG makes up for it.
Jun 17, 2016 7.8 out of 10. Some great songs on here like BPT, I Just Wanna Party, Bicken Back Bein Bool, Meet the Flockers (best track on the album btw), My n----- (original and remix), Really Be Smokin and Drinkin and Sorry Momma. Like BNTS said above me the production can get a bit boring/same-y for me but it's enjoyable nonetheless.
Jun 17, 2016 8.3 Probably one of the most concise albums I've ever listened to, the GKMC comparisons have been beaten to death and don't do this album justice. It's unapologetically west coast from the themes, lingo and especially the production; you can't help but blast the volume up the moment BPT comes on and it pretty much sets the tone for the rest of the album. Only shortcomings to me is that it does feel redundant in some spurts. Overall it's a great modern traditional California rap album.
Jun 17, 2016 8.5 - Love this album and have been constantly playing it recently. The construction of the album is it's high point. Songs such at BPT are addictive.
Jun 17, 2016 8.5 Amazing album. Track 2 - 7 are incredible. After thats it gets weaker but still good.
Jun 17, 2016 Modern day, west coast classic. Cohesive, and overal a great album to play in the car. Love the production, even though a lot of it sounds similar, and it has some great features as well. 8.5/10
Jun 17, 2016 6/10 s--- is too repetitive, the production sounds cheap as f--- and yg is not good enough to make me forget about the mediocre production
Jun 17, 2016 this is actually very fresh in my mind because i listened to this very recently because i've heard good things about YG, so i decided to check this out before listening to this new album. i enjoyed krazy life, i like it, but i'm not as high on it as most ppl seem to be. all the songs up until the end of meet the flockers are very good, IMO. this stretch is the strength of the album, IMO. i also think the production throughout is quite good and that's what mostly carries this project. YG is a solid rapper, but i don't think he's great when it comes to lyrics by any means. don't get me wrong, he's not bad or anything, just not exceptional. i like that he implemented some of the past memories of hip hop albums into this-- i.e on meet the flockers---there's that part that sounds just like the song damien by DMX. also, the sex part on this album reminds you of the one on ready to die, etc etc. overall, a good project with good production and solid lyrics. 7 out of 10
